In this paper you should engage with one or more of the themes we have discussed in class in a film analysis paper. You may chose one of the prompts below as a starting point for your analysis. 

PROMPT 1: Use Bill Nichols concept of axiographics analyze one or more films that deal with or depict death. For example, you may analyze the filmmaker’s approach in Restreppo (2010) a film about the war in Afghanistan. 

PROMPT 2: Compare a film that takes an objective stance towards its subject with a film that takes a subjective or reflexive stance. How do the filmmakers’ approaches effect their films’ efficacy. 

PROMPT 3: Read and research one of the historical movements in filmmaking we have gone over (early ethnographic film, Cinema Verite, direct cinema) and analyze 2 or more films that are emblematic of their respective genre. 

PROMPT 4: Come up with your own idea and run it by me in office hours!
