What if there is no meaning to life?

Meaning of Life, Paper Three: What if there is no meaning to life? Write a 3-4 page double-spaced paper that answers the following: For the sake of this paper, assume that there is no God, no fate, no destiny, and no afterlife. If this is all true, which reading from this section do you think most accurately describes how we should think about meaning in our lives? Some details: This paper covers the following readings: Shopenhauer, Russell, Camus, Nagel, Wisdom, and Nozick. To answer this question, you’ll have to choose which reading you think gives the best answer, and explain what it says and why you think it’s the best. To explain why you think it’s the best answer, you’ll have to compare it to other answers. You do not have to compare it to all the other readings, though. For this paper, it’s enough to talk about just two readings – one you think is the best answer, and one you think is not. You can talk about more, but you need to do two. Be sure to properly cite all quotes. In the text, use author and page number in parentheses after quotes, and at the end of the paper put the citation. How the papers will be graded: Your papers will be graded on three criteria: Your understanding of the material, the strength of your own argument, and the coherence of your writing. There are lots of ways to write a good paper, but all good papers do certain things. These are described on the paper checklist, which is attached below. There’s a discussion of this checklist, as well as the other material that will help your writing, in the Resources for Writing Papers module, included with the first paper assignment. Due date: Papers are due on March 25th at the end of the day (officially 11:59 pm). Late papers will be penalized one letter grade for every day late.
