week 8: Creative Social Determinants of Health Project

-The content of this project should explore and represent social determinants of health in an expressive way that is relevant to you and to the health of individuals, families, and/or communities

-Social determinants of health (SDOH) are the nonmedical factors that influence health outcomes. They are the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of daily life.

-. Example topics, stigma for women with HIV/AIDS, Environmental Justice (which neighborhoods are designated as industrial / landfills/pollution rates linked to racialized asthma/cancer rates), impacts of war on disability, mental health, and physical health,  etc.

Ideas of creative expression/art projects might include a photography-based photo essay, a comic or political commentary, graphic design or educational posters or pamphlets, drawings, paintings, a podcast, a spoken word poem or traditional poem, creative writing, an animation, music or a song, etc. 

-the references used to inform the project’s content on the specific SDoH. The project itself does not need to be in APA format (so no need for a title page or header) but try to use APA format for the reference list and aim to draw your content from at 3 diverse sources (therefore you should have at least three references in your reference list). Sources could include journal articles, websites, documentaries, YouTube, people, yourself, social media, etc…! —
