part (a) In an informal discussion, students will discuss one major theme in the reading. There is some expectation that this discussion will be conversational (e.g. discussants address each other’s points, build towards conclusions).

part (b) For a formal presentation, students will connect one major theme in the reading with a creative work (e.g. musical recording, visual art, etc.) or a worldly event (e.g. historical event, contemporary news item).
