Discussion on patent from Vannevar Bush

Access the patent database to review some patents filed by one or more of the figures mention in this module. See below for a guide on how to do it. Review a few patents to see one that stands out to you in some way that reflects the course content. Upload that patent to the discussion board and describe why you found that patent to be particularly interesting, and how it relates to the course. Respond to at least two of your classmates by identifying one similarity between the patent they picked out and the one you selected as well as one difference. Your first post should be uploaded by the fifth day of the module, and your responses no later than the seventh day.

To access the patent database, use the following steps (note: you may be able to begin on step 3):

Go to the US Patent and Trademark Office web page

Click “Patent Search Tool”

1. Click “Basic Search” URL: https://ppubs.uspto.gov/pubwebapp/static/pages/ppubsbasic.html
2. In the drop down menus, select “Applicant name” (replacing the default “Everything”) (do this for both drop down menus)
3. Enter the last name and first name of your inventor in the two boxes next to “Applicant name” (note that you can only do one name per field)
