Discuss the following: background of problem, the Statement of the problem, the hypothesis, research question, the literature review and theoretical framework. The 7th ed for Professional APA format is required.
When doing a research critique, it is acceptable to put the reference for the article on the bottom of the title page. However, if not done so, you must reference the study through the paper . All other resources (such as the research textbooks) must be cited and referenced as usual.

Is the problem clearly and concisely stated?
Is the problem stated in terms that are specific and narrow enough to study?
How is the problem important or significant for nursing practice?
II. Research Questions and Hypotheses:
Are the hypotheses stated clearly?
Do they contain a dependent and independent variable? If so, identify them.
Do the hypotheses predict a relationship between two or more variables?
III. Review of Literature:
Does the review have a significant amount of recent work?
Does the review of the literature provide supporting evidence to show the need for carrying out the research?
Are documentation and selection of sources appropriate?
Is the review well organized?
Does the article describe a theoretical or conceptual framework? If not, should one have been included?

Using the same research study that was used for Critiquing Research Part l. The paper must be in narrative format, and the 7th ed for professional APA format is required. Use your research textbook to help you answer the questions and define/explain the terms.

What type of sampling plan was used? What are the key characteristics of the sample?
Is the setting appropriate for the study?
V. Data Collection
Is informed consent utilized?
Who collected the data?
How were the data collected? (survey, interview, etc.)
Are the measurement instruments or tools clearly described?
What statistical tests were utilized?
Are reliability (consistency) and validity (accuracy and precision of measurement instruments) addressed?
VI. Interpretation, Discussion, and Clinical Application
Are all of the important results discussed?
State author’s conclusion and recommendations.
What are the author’s implications for practice?
Identify three researchable questions for further study.
State if and when/where you would put the research findings into practice
You may start the paper with the same introduction used in the first critique. See comment to ensure it is correct with a purpose statement, change components. Define each heading. state what is in the study that aligns with the definition. if not clear, state your views and critique, add references to validate your views.
