Creating Data Displays for a Client

In this case study, you work as a communication specialist for a non-profit client and the director has asked for your assistance. The client may be able to receive an increase in state funding if the director can assemble a proposal about the need for their services. The director asks if you can create data displays for the proposal.

Research non profits in your area to find a non profit that you can create data displays for. The example I used in the video is a food bank. I prefer if you find a different non-profit other than a foodbank for this assignment.

Please use the free student version of Piktochart, Canva, or another graphic program (links are in our module) to create your graphics.

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET:

• YOUR 4 GRAPHICS MUST DISPLAY DATA AND ADD TO YOUR MESSAGE. For example: pictures do not count as graphics for this assignment… those are pictures. Pick a non-profit that has data available.
• All of your graphics must be original graphics that you create. Examples of graphics include: pie chart, table, line chart, column chart, infographic, and other examples as listed in the textbook chapter included in this module.
• YOU MUST CREATE AT LEAST 1 INFOGRAPHIC THAT WILL COUNT AS 1 OF YOUR 4 total graphics. Please see links in our module for more information on what an infographic is and how to create one.
• Attach the website url for the organization that you chose

Please review the grading rubric below this assignment as you begin. You will receive a plagiarism report for this assignment so please check it and resubmit after you edit, if necessary.

Deliverable:

On the due date, you will upload the original graphics that you created in Word or PowerPoint. If you created them in Piktochart, a picture file is fine. You can also put a screenshot of your graphics into a Word document.
