Select and comment on the submission of one of your classmates’ prevention plan. You will select the prevention plan that you think will have the most impact at FIU. The comment on your classmate’s post will describe why you believe their program was so impactful, innovative, etc.
Review prevention plan examples from previous students to help you get some ideas on your project topic (see the bottom of this assignment for examples). Although these examples are more in depth (e.g. you do not need to collect data from students or include pre and post test questions, etc) use them as a guide.
Reminde
Remember that preventing sexual assault is very different from responding to sexual assault. Offering a workshop to teach students about bystander intervention is a prevention plan, because you hope they will intervene as bystanders to prevent an assault. Implementing more services for survivors on campus (e.g. the counseling center) is not prevention, because the assault has already happened. Please message me if yo are confused about the difference. Students proposing prevention plans that are not actually prevention-based will not receive credit for this assignment.
