Throughout the semester we have learned about mindfulness and resilience. 1) This week’s videos, Why Mindfulness is a Superpower and Jon Kabot-Zinn ‘s From Doing to Being highlight the importance of practicing mindfulness for overall health and well-being. What are your thoughts about these two videos; share your key learnings in your post. 2) Mindful meditation is one strategy we can use to practice mindfulness. What other methods have you learned this semester that also reinforce this concept of mindfulness. Before starting to write this week’s journal post, spend a few minutes in meditation using progressive muscle relaxation from the following YouTube video link below:

- Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) is a meditation technique that focuses on tensing and relaxing muscles throughout your body. Many of us respond to stress by holding physical tension in our body (fight or flight response) and this can result in muscle tension, headaches, pain and sleeplessness. PMR can reduce the discomfort caused by the stress response.
- If you have any musculoskeletal issues or are experiencing pain in your body currently, you can still benefit from this exercise. Take your time as the exercise progresses throughout various muscle groups in your body
- Do NOT tense the muscles to the point of pain or discomfort!

This week we continue our learning on the benefits of regular practice of meditation with Progressive Muscle Relaxation. After practicing PMR in the video link above and reading pages 130-131 in McIntosh and Horowitz (2018), respond to the prompt below:
