Task 1 You must prepare a presentation and accompanying notes that will raise the awareness of managers about the contribution that supply chain management makes to the achievement of business objectives. The paper must provide more detailed information on the steps that they could take to improve the organisation’s logistics and supply chain management. The discussion paper must include: • • • • • An analysis of the theories of supply chain management An assessment of the importance of the strategic wheel in developing supply chain strategies An assessment of factors to be considered when improving the logistics practices in organisations An analysis of how information technology could be used to integrate different parts of the supply chain An assessment of how information technology could be used to develop the organisation’s relationship with its suppliers. To achieve a merit or distinction grade, the learners must demonstrate that they have achieved all the criteria set for these grad es. Where work for the pass standard is marginal, assessors can take account of any extension work completed by the learners. The suggested evidence listed below is how learners can demonstrate that they have met the required standards.
