Individual Paper (No more than 1200 words of double-spaced text (one-inch margins, Times New Roman 12-point font. The references, figures, and tables do not count toward the word limit.) ● You are to assume the role of an HR/OB consultant. Your task is to: ● 1) Use news media to identify an organization with an organizational behavior/human resource-related challenge pertaining to your group’s broader topic (see below). NOTE: The topic MUST relate primarily to OB/HR, (e.g., not Strategy, Marketing, or Finance). For example, students should NOT focus on challenges primarily pertaining to external perceptions of an organization (e.g., organizational reputational concerns), but rather on internal experiences of working within it. Students who are unsure about the focus of their topic should plan to connect with the instructor. ○ Describe and define the OB/HR challenge. What factors led to this challenge? Why is it an issue? Make the strategic business case for why this challenge matters at all three levels of organizational behavior – how does it impact individuals, how does it impact groups, and how does it impact the organization? ● 2) Design a specific, detailed, research-supported intervention to combat the challenge ○ What specific intervention do you plan to undertake to try to combat this challenge? Why do you believe this intervention will be successful? Draw from at least three outside sources to support your intervention design. ● 3) Indicate how, specifically, you will measure the success of your intervention ○ What measures will you collect? How/when will you collect the data? What analyses will you undertake to assess the program’s success? How will you conclude success? ● 4) Estimate the costs and benefits of your intervention using specific metrics ○ How much do you expect your intervention to cost? How much do you expect it to save or earn? Why?
