DATA-47200 Introduction to Data Mining Project #1: I. Introduction In this project, you will analyze a real-word dataset. The dataset consists of countrywide car accidents that covers 49 states of the USA. The accident data were collected from February 2016 to March 2023, using multiple APIs that provide streaming traffic incident (or event) data. You can download the sample dataset with 500k accident records from https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/sobhanmoosavi/us-accidents?rvi=1 III. Activity Suppose you are a new hired junior data scientist at the department of transportation. You are given a job to figure out the associations between the different factors (weather condition, location, etc, …) and severity of the accident in IL state. You are required to prepare a report after the analysis. You are free to select a frequent mining method (Apriori/FP- growth), number of attributes, and a programming language (or software) for the analysis. III. Requirement Submit your report with filename of PR1_lastname.pdf through blackboard to get any credit. Group members can submit the same report. IV.
