In the textbook pages assigned, you learned that Columbus’s “discovery” of the New World came at the same time that the Spanish King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella also conquered the last Muslim stronghold in Spain and expelled the Jewish population from the kingdom. With that in mind, consider this question: How does the “Requerimiento” document demonstrate the same goals toward the Native Americans in the New World that Isabella and Ferdinand also applied to Muslims and Jews in Spain?

· You might approach this question by first discussing the goals of Ferdinand and Isabella towards the Muslims and Jews in their kingdom, and then explaining how these goals are similar to those discussed in the Requerimiento towards the Native Americans.
