Psychology Question
Instructions: Select one article that you intend to use for your research project. The article must be
from a peer-reviewed academic journal, and the nature of the data should be either quantitative or a
combination of quantitative and qualitative. Finally, the article must report on data collected by the
author(s). Meta-analyses, systematic review articles, or critical reviews of the literature are not allowed
for this assignment. A quick way to determine whether an article meets the necessary criteria is to ask:
(1) Does the article have a Method and Results section? (2) Did the authors collect data from human
participants? and (3) Are there tables and/or figures in the article? If the answer to any of these
questions is no, it is probably not an acceptable article. Once you have identified a suitable article, read
it carefully and answer the questions below.
Note: Not all questions will apply to every article. You need to use your knowledge of course material to
evaluate which of the questions below do or don’t apply. If a question below does not apply to your
study, please state that and briefly explain why.
At least 1 week prior to beginning this assignment, email the PDF of the article that you would like to
critique (as an attachment) to your instructor – do not email a link of the article to your instructor – and
wait for your instructor’s approval. Instructor approval is required.
In your submission, please number each of your answers according to the questions below.
