Nursing Question
Introduction
You, the traveler, will demonstrate what you have learned in the music level of the campaign by composing a codex (slideshow) on a topic that correlates with the music level. You will pick a singer or musical group that you like and analyze one of their songs. Within your codex, explain which musical genre they belong in and why. In your analysis, give information about which type of music the artist plays (Classic Rock, Contemporary Jazz, Hip-Hop, etc.). Choose 1 song and 1 genre for this mastery assessment (musicians usually fit into more than 1 category). Link the musical elements of the genre to the performer’s music, i.e., rhythm, tone, beat, etc. (rock and roll has 150-180 beats per minute) by analyzing the song you chose using proper terminology associated with the module. Include a minimum of 3 musical elements, you can have more, but 3 is the minimum (Elvis is considered rock and roll because of the fast tempo of 167 beats per minute, etc. as seen in “Jailhouse Rock”). You, the student traveler, are placing the artist and song in a specific genre using the musical elements in their work. By using the musical elements, i.e., rhythm, tone, beat, etc., by the end of your presentation the elder (instructor) should see how the artist’s musical elements fit the genre.
The ability to analyze, extrapolate, and share data/information will be key in any industry as it shows the ability for critical and independent thinking. Likewise, it shows the development of soft skills such as using computerized presentation software, creating files, documenting source information, and being able to organize information in a coherent manner. This will serve you well once you master the TSTC realm and enter the workforce realm by being able to appreciate and demonstrate your awareness and appreciation of previous musical modes. Afterall, music is the rhythm of life.
