Cultural Studies Question

For your short essay you must respond to the following statement & question:

Human perception is culturally influenced.

How does visual anthropology allow us to better understand this proposition and explore cultural differences through imagery?

Your written response will be 500 words in length and include academic citations.

**** You must also include an annotated bibliography (not included in the word count) – of no less than 6 sources that compliment your research and that you cite in your short essay.

An annotated bibliography is a list of sources (books, articles, chapters) where each source is followed by a brief summary paragraph describing/evaluating the source. 

Below is an example of an annotated bibliography:

Davidson, Hilda Ellis. Roles of the Northern Goddess. London: Routledge, 1998.

Davidson’s book provides a thorough examination of the major roles filled by the numerous pagan goddesses of Northern Europe in everyday life, including their roles in hunting, agriculture, domestic arts like weaving, the household, and death. The author discusses relevant archaeological evidence, patterns of symbol and ritual, and previous research. The book includes a number of black and white photographs of relevant artifacts.
