You all should have a good idea what emotional intelligence, or EI, is by now from the material provided.  There is no doubt, today’s society does have some elements that lack this very important skill.  Make sure you read/watch the examples above.  Afterwards, take some time to think and write about a time when you may have lacked emotional intelligence.  This could  in your personal lives or even at your current job.  Sometimes, we lose a bit of that emotional intelligence when it comes to very sensitive issues and reflect on them later.  Write about it.

Writing Assignment #6 – Emotional Intelligence, part 2

Last time, you had to think about a time when YOU displayed a lack of emotional intelligence based on what you had read/watched in the material provided in this week’s folder.  For this new writing assignment, I want you to seek someone out in the media (recent or in the past) that shows a complete lack of emotional intelligence.  Isolate the incident in question and then explain why you feel this person or whomever did not display appropriate emotional intelligence. 

Once you do that, explain the correct response this person should have taken based on what healthy emotional intelligence is.  Be specific and in-depth as much as you can.  This should make for an interesting assignment.
