According to Paley, what property (or properties) do we observe in the watch that leads us to accept the hypothesis that there was a watchmaker who designed it? What things in nature have a similar property and what exactly is the hypothesis that Paley thinks this should lead us to accept?
In class on Tuesday, I discussed the “Humean critique” and the “Darwinian critique” of the argument from design. Pick one and explain whether you think it ultimately succeeds or fails at undermining the Paley’s argument.
