Due February 11th Assignment Instructions: In the proposal describe how the role of the mental health counselor will be evaluated during the interview to promote social justice; resolve conflicts; develop cultural awareness; eliminate biases, prejudices, oppression, and discrimination. Due February 25th Assignment Instructions Course participants will conduct an interview with someone (via face to face or Zoom) who is a mental health professional serving in a rural community. Construct a 3-4-page summary of the interview that includes the following: • A personal description of the professional’s degrees, qualifications, licensures, and certifications. • list of interview questions • personal reactions to that interview • Any quantitative data they can provide (e.g., numbers of clients/students/families seen; the percentage of the population with diagnosable mental health illness or disorder; locations of specialized services in their area; etc.). • Any qualitative data which would include the professional’s own feelings of serving in the rural population, estimations of the numbers, levels, and types of mental health needs within the area he/she serves, current assessment of the mental health resource needs for the population served, review of his/her own professional development needs such as training, certifications, etc., a summation of the reoccurring and most serious mental health issues he/she faces in working with this population. • description of what was learned from the interview that will improve your practice. Your paper should be composed in APA 7th edition format, including a title page, running header, page numbering, and headings. The document should be in font size 12-point Times New Roman, Arial, or Calibri and should be single-spaced. Margins should be one inch on all sides.
