For this assignment, you will submit the Argument essay you composed from the outline in week four. The paper should be presented in the APA 7 format. Please review the sample provided to help you develop the essay and submit it with a title page, in-text citations, and a reference page. See sample essay. Step 1. Conduct Research.
The argument essay will require finding an article on your chosen topic (see topics below). Select articles from reputable sources such as news magazines or scholarly journals.
Step 2. Summarize one article. (this is the introduction)
Begin the summary by stating the author’s name, credentials, if available, and the article’s title. Summarize the article and identify the author’s point of view.

The summary must include only the main points of the article, no personal opinions. This summary should be written from a 3rdperson point of view.
Compose the thesis statement. The thesis will state your position on the topic (in the third person). Why would someone agree/ disagree with the argument? The thesis is usually the last sentence of the introduction, and it should contain three main ideas. See the format for the thesis statement:
THESIS: Title of article____________ Author’s name, ____________ Insert verb____________ (argues, advocates, shines a light on) Topic of the article_____________ and Author’s position or main point. What would someone agree with? Why would someone disagree?

Step 3. Body Paragraphs
You will find two or more additional sourcesrelated to the topic that provide an additional perspective that can support your position and another article with an opposing view.
Each topic sentence should be an extension of the ideas in the thesis. Each idea needs to be discussed in the same order as they are presented in the thesis statement.
The counterargument can be presented in a separate paragraph, or it can be presented point-by-point. You must include direct quotes and paraphrases from the resources you have found.
Include specific evidence that helps readers understand the points you are making.
Step 4. Conclusion
The conclusion should restate the thesis statement, summarize the main points of the essay, and end with a closing point or a call for action.
