CED 200 Multicultural Issues

1.) What are likely to be your greatest challenges in exploring your own racism, sexism, heterosexism, classism, ableism, ageism, and other isms? What specific challenges do you think you may face? Provide a few specific measurable “objectives” that can help facilitate your process of “unlearning” (feeling discomfort/guilt) associated biases, assumptions, beliefs, and stereotypes, as well as to increase your overall level of multicultural competence. 

2.) Are you able to recall microaggressions (Verbal, nonverbal, or environmental, blatant attack, conveys discrimination and biased sentiments) that you may have unintentionally perpetrated in the past? How do you feel when you think about these? What are some microaggressions that have been used against you? How did they make you feel? 

3.) Describe characteristics of people in the Conformity Stage of the R/CID with regard to attitudes and beliefs toward (a) self, (b) members of the same group, (c) members of other minority groups, and (d) the dominant group.
