Example 1:As I contemplate both restrictive and obstructive respiratory disorders, a common theme emerge the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to care. From pulmonologists and respiratory therapists to psychologists and occupational therapists, a collaborative effort is crucial in addressing the diverse challenges individuals face. Moreover, reflecting on these disorders emphasizes the significance of patient education and empowerment (Smith, 2021).  Providing individuals with the knowledge and tools to manage their condition fosters a sense of control and autonomy. It also underscores the importance of public awareness to reduce stigmatization and enhance understanding of the daily struggles faced by those with respiratory disorders. In conclusion, reflecting on restrictive and obstructive respiratory disorders deepens my appreciation for the resilience of individuals navigating these challenges. It reinforces the need for a holistic approach to respiratory care that encompasses medical, emotional, and social dimensions, ultimately striving for a better quality of life for those affected.

Example2: Pleurodesis is a medical procedure that aims to prevent the recurrence of pleural effusions or to treat persistent pneumothorax by closing off the pleural space. There are two methods of performing pleurodesis: chemical and mechanical. However, chemical pleurodesis is generally preferred over the mechanical method (Ali & Surani, 2023). 

During chemical pleurodesis, a sclerosing agent such as talc or doxycycline is introduced into the pleural cavity through a chest tube. This sclerosing agent triggers a strong inflammatory response and fibrosis, leading to adhesion of the pleural membranes. Fibrosis is the formation of excess fibrous connective tissue in an organ or tissue, which can cause thickening, scarring, or contraction of the tissue. Adhesion of the pleural membranes causes them to stick together, which reduces the space between the membranes, preventing the accumulation of fluid or air in the pleural space (Ali & Surani, 2023).
