“THOUGHTFUL AND ARTICULATE”
- In the instructions above, you are asked to be thoughtful and articulate when you explain your theme. “Thoughtful” means don’t just answer with a simple or obvious reason, instead give it some real, mature, deliberate thought to why you have chosen your particular theme. “Articulate” means don’t just use tired or simplistic phrases, instead you should choose precise and meaningful words. Here are some examples:
NOT THOUGHTFUL AND ARTICULATE:
- My theme is blue art. I love the color blue and I think this will be a fun theme. (this is too simple and obvious)
THOUGHTFUL AND ARTICULATE:
- The color blue has a lot of meanings in a lot of different cultures, such as symbolic connections to water and sky, psychological connections to emotions such as sadness and grief, and connections to cultural values such as peacefulness and calm. In addition, I will explore my own fascination with the color blue and explain how and why I connect with the artworks included. (this has a lot of detail, with precise and meaningful words used to describe)
A Note About Plagiarism:
- Please note that plagiarism is considered to be academically dishonest, and it is forbidden in academic settings. Because of that, plagiarized work will earn no credit on this assignment. So, please be sure you understand the definition of plagiarism, and be careful to avoid it! In the most basic terms, it means copying someone else’s work and passing it off as your own. In my experience, I have found that most students plagiarize because they are worried that they don’t know what to say, or that they won’t do a good job at it. In order to avoid plagiarism, the most important thing to remember is this: I am much more interested in your own words and thoughts on any topic, than I am interested in a perfect assignment. If you are genuinely worried about your writing ability or understanding of the course topics, then please contact
