Anakin is a retired commander of the empire and has returned to his childhood home in Tatoonie, Maine. In addition, Anakin likes to hang out in Mos Eisley’s Cantina where he is a member of the band Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes. In report, the ED nurse, J. Jar Binks shared the following vital signs and assessment data related to Anakin’s admission to the ED. BP of 90/44 Pulse 120 Respirations 30, labored, uses accessory muscles. temperature of 37.2 0C SpO2 90% on partial non-rebreather Neurological- Very weak, confused, moves all extremities equal to command. Pupils PERRLA +2 Bilateral. Respiratory- Cyanosis on oral mucosa, slight dusky appearance, lungs diminished in the bases, rales bilateral lower lobes, and non-productive cough. Cardiovascular- Weak pedal/radial pulses, cap refill 3-4 seconds, skin cool/clammy, HR 110, sinus tachycardia on the telemetry. Gastrointestinal- + bowel sounds, last BM this morning, stool is very dark and is guaiac positive. Patient denies nausea or vomiting. Genitourinary- Patient urinated once in the ED six hours ago50 mL. Urine is concentrated/yellow with no sediment. Skin- Patient as a red area on his left hand and 2.5 cm x3 cm reddened area on his sacrum.. has assorted healed scars covering his entire body. Pain- 7/10, generalized abdominal pain; the pain is achy, spreads to his throat, and nothing makes the pain feel better or worse. Binks states, “the patient wanted to sign a living will and is now a DNR.” The chart includes the following data Height 162.56 cm, weight 120kg, and is Anakin is allergies to the light side of the force, Porgs, Ewoks, and crystal foxes. Anakin has a remote history of “spice” addiction. In the ED, labs were drawn and the two large bore IV was placed in the patient’s left wrist and forearm. A 12-lead ECG was completed, there was no ST elevations or depressions, with a normal axis. Lab results are not yet available and the patient was placed on 4 L of oxygen. The patient is currently has a maintenance IV of 0.9% NS infusing at 150 mL/h. J. Jar states the ED is very busy, and he cannot give you any more information, and the charge nurse Jabba Desilijic Tiure will transfer the patient within 30 minutes.
