Hello, my name is Fernando. I live within the empire of Charles the Great, or best-known Charlemagne, from 768 C.E- 814 C.E. I will be reporting on the governance and legal system and ethics, religion, and spiritual systems.
Charlemagne led the German invasion and became the ruler from 768 C.E – 814 C.E. Through is early medieval European figure, the people, through his various blending of German traditions and Roman practices, he was able to take over. The takeover of Rome was impossible without the Germans borrowing from the Mongols’ spur through their strong methods of fighting on horseback. The Germanic Law was not legislated but was an oral custom from generations. The penalties for crimes varied according to the official standing of the guilty party there were no laws that protected people from trials. The Germans were not as whole, as there were various tribes and different German dialects.
The Christian religion heavily influenced the Charlemagne period. Celtic art and literature migrated into the Christianity through the British monk who baptized various people and found 300 churches. As Germans adapted to multiple communities, they took the Christian manuscripts and objects for representation in Mass. This was also seen in the Greco-Roman great age of cathedrals. Charlemagne constructed monasteries for prayers and Christianity preservations, nuns and monks lived in these sacred places and worked to serve the house which meant they used these places as dormitory and would not leave.

Hello Class,
My name is Jesse Fragoso, I live within the empire of Charles the Great or ‘Charlemagne’ during the time period of 768 C.E – 814 C.E.
I will be conducting this report from within Charlemagne’s Empire. I will be covering the governance and legal systems as well as ethics and religion throughout this empire. After, I will make my way to the Carolingian Renaissance.
Charlemagne, ruling from 768 to 814 C.E., is a prominent figure in medieval Europe. His governance utilizes a blend of Germanic traditions and Roman administrative practices. Charlemagne has implemented a system of feudalism, with local lords managing regions under his authority. He also established the Carolingian Empire, emphasizing centralized rule and Christian values. Legal systems were often based on customary law, but Charlemagne sought to standardize laws through the Capitularies, issuing royal decrees to maintain order and justice. This period laid the foundation for medieval European governance structures.
Charlemagne’s rule is deeply influenced by Christianity. He maintains a close relationship with the Church and was crowned Holy Roman Emperor by Pope Leo III in 800 C.E. This alliance between the Carolingian dynasty and the Church strengthened the role of Christianity in governance. Charlemagne encourages the spread of Christianity through missionary efforts and supported the Church financially.
Ethics during this period were largely guided by Christian principles. Charlemagne aimed to establish a just and moral society, aligning with Christian teachings. The Carolingian Renaissance, a revival of learning and culture, also played a role in shaping ethical standards. Monasteries became centers of education and moral instruction, contributing to the preservation of knowledge and the promotion of ethical values during Charlemagne’s reign.
Comparing this with The Carolingian Renaissance, a cultural and intellectual revival, characterized both periods. Monasteries became centers for learning and ethical instruction. However, after Charlemagne’s death, internal strife and external pressures influenced the stability of the Carolingian Empire, leading to its eventual fragmentation.
In comparing the two periods, the foundational role of Christianity in governance and ethics persisted. Both Charlemagne’s rule and the broader Carolingian era were marked by efforts to integrate Christian values into society, though the empire faced challenges in maintaining this cohesion after Charlemagne’s reign.

Hello everyone,
I chose to examine Writing A Paper and Presentations. After reviewing the feedback, I received from on my week three assignment I realized I needed to focus a little more on my thesis statement. I was very vague and didn’t really share much information to what it could make it an actual thesis statement. I missed a lot of details that would have helped me formulate a better one. Another area I struggled was with the introduction, I do find myself getting confused when it comes to writing an introduction which I also miss a lot of details. Writing A Paper would help me have a much better and clear understanding on how to properly write and introduction as well as a thesis statement. Understanding what they both mean would also give me a better idea on how to incorporate the details that I have missed.
Presentations was easy to understand but also very helpful. Given the fact that my final presentation will be a PowerPoint, analyzing the correct way to create a PowerPoint was very informative and helpful. I never knew there was a formal and best practices to doing a presentation. I would use these resources in the future to help me with any writing or presentation I might have. These tools are useful and important for anyone who struggles with writing or on how to start of a paper. I would share these experiences with anyone who struggles or things they are not a good writer, having resources like such helps out a lot.

My final project examines the theme of enslavement in the classical period of ancient Greece and the new kingdom period of the Egyptian civilization. Before using the writing centre of the university, elements of my drafts that I thought needed improvement were the inclusion of more primary sources that showed the theme of enslavement in these societies and expounding on how these primary sources showed the theme of enslavement in these societies.
Some of the resources I chose to examine were the resource on writing a paper and Grammarly. Considering that I chose a research paper as the format for my final project presentation, I believe these two resources, Grammarly and the guidelines on writing a paper, will benefit my paper. For instance, Grammarly will be an essential tool for my project since it will help proofread my work, flag my mistakes, and ensure that my project is clear and error-free. The guidelines on writing a paper will also benefit my paper since the tool will help me understand the procedure of writing my paper. For instance, I will first prepare, brainstorm, research, revise, and edit.
