My topic is The Impact of COVID-19 on the American Workforce: How COVID-19 Became the Destroyer and the Teacher to Society. After reviewing more relevant literature, I added the research from Berquist et al., 2020. They reported that one of the primary reasons for delayed widespread testing and vaccination during the pandemic was the conflicting and misleading statement made by the Trump Administration. The other reasons for delayed testing were parliamentary issues in disseminated tests by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and red tape involving regulations of the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) test approval before the increase of development and manufacturing. After the capacity of testing increased, the problem of overcrowding arose. (Bergquist et al., 2020).

Specifically, how has the focus of your literature review changed as you have read more relevant literature? What adjustments, if any, have you had to make to your proposed research questions or purpose? 

Since the beginning of my research, I have edited my literature review. The editing is due to my finding more information to support my topic and the gap in the literature. I have found more research to support African-American women in leadership positions but minimal information to support African-American women in leadership positions in rural South Mississippi. In addition to African-American women in leadership positions, their self-efficacy, the barriers, and challenges faced. The literature review aims to demonstrate my familiarity with my topic, develop a theoretical framework and methodology, show how my research addresses the gap in my research topic, and evaluate the current information on my research topic (McCombes, 2023). I have found that the gap in the literature is concerning, considering the potential disparities and systemic barriers that women of this demographic may encounter, which could significantly impact LMX relations, their self-efficacy, and advancement opportunities.
