GCU Incident Contact Documentation Discussion
As a supplement to our first DQ this week, think about this: Fisher (2022) noted the importance of documenting incidental contact with clients (e.g., you run into them in a store or at church, etc.). Fisher (2022) strongly suggested “psychologists should always consider whether the particular nature of a professional relationship might lead to a client’s/patient’s misperceptions regarding an encounter. If so, it is advisable to keep a record of such encounters and discuss them with the client/patient when clinically indicated” (p. 291). Do you feel Fisher (2022) is on point or over-emphasizing this particular issue, and why? Looking forward to your perspective!
