One of them includes cost. Organizations should choose information technologies that fit their budget (Saeed et al., 2019). In this case, healthcare managers prefer off-the-shelf solutions because they are cheaper than bespoke software solutions. This is because off-the-shelf projects are pre-built and ready to use. Secondly, off-the-shelf solutions are easy to use. The solutions are delivered as a ready-to-use package with no further changes. As a result, firms evade the customization process which may be complex. Finally, off-the-shelf solutions are palatable due to technical support. Software vendors often allow buyers to save maintenance and customer support costs since the vendor’s team offers these services without additional costs.
