We are all guilty of confirmation bias; it is human nature. We must learn the skill of metacognition, which is thinking about your thinking as objectively as possible in order to grow intellectually.

For this discussion:

• Describe a situation where you or someone you know has demonstrated confirmation bias.
• What was the evidence that was being ignored in that case?
• Share how your own biases might have impacted the situation you chose for your topic.
• Based on what you have learned so far, what are two ways that you can minimize the effect of bias in your studies?
