Why Investors Start Businesses Primary Reason Discussion

My class is in a debate where half of the class is assigned to one side of the argument while the other half is assigned to the other side of the argument. the prompt of this weeks debate is “Business people should not try to manage to scientific outcomes related to Earth’s ecosystems, but rather focus on returning profit.  Leave the science to scientists and the policy to politicians.  Our job is to make profit for shareholders/owners/members.  Period.  This is how we are valued and rewarded. Society is sending a clear message about what we should focus on.” My group was assigned the ‘pro’ side of the argument and the attached document titled “mod 7 debate prep” has all the details from our side of the argument that we have researched so far. On the middle of page four there is an empty section titled “rebutter 2“. the purpose of this section is to research potential arguments from the other side and devise a rebuttal for their potential arguments. This is the only part of the assignment that needs to be done.
