12th Argumentative Essay Outline Is it Ethical to Target Uninformed Consumers?
This is an argumentative essay which means you will take a position (claim) and then support your position with reasons that are backed up with evidence. You may conduct research if necessary. Make sure that you document your sources if you use any information in your essay from a source other than yourself. Use this outline for the prewriting stage of the assignment. You may use the parts that have been filled in to help you, or you may use your own ideas in place of those on the outline. You will need to fill in the parts that are not filled in. After you have the outline completed, you will then copy and paste the information into the prewriting in Edgenuity. I. Introduction Paragraph
A. Hook – start with a sentence that grabs the interest of the reader. It should be an engaging statement, question, or anecdote.
B. Background information – this should be 2 or 3 sentences that provide some general details about your topic. These sentences would serve to introduce the topic to the reader but should be kept general without a whole lot of detail.
C. Claim – presents your position on the topic. You may use either of the following claims, depending on where you stand on this issue. (Add your reasons to the end of the sentence.)
