Week 1 Assignment – Personal Commitments Assessment
In this assignment, you will examine your worldview using the personal commitments described in Chapter 2 of the textbook. This may be the first time you have thought deeply about what you believe, so give yourself time to reflect on each question. You will also have the opportunity to examine your worldview according to a test given in the textbook and to express what you think the Christian faith is all about.CWV 101 Christian Worldview All Assignments

Reminder: This is a worksheet so the LopesWrite score will be higher due to the directions and questions
Be sure you answer both Part 1 and Part 2 of this assignment before submitting.
Part 1
After reading Chapter 2 in the textbook and the lecture for this topic, write a two- to three-sentence answer to each of the six questions that form the basic components or personal commitments for your worldview. Answer the questions about your own beliefs in your own words, not what you think the Christian worldview believes. Keep this worksheet intact and only add your answers under each question.
1. What is your belief about ultimate reality?
2. What is your belief about the nature of the universe?
3. What is your belief about human nature and the afterlife?
4. What is your belief about knowledge?
5. What is your basis of ethics?
6. What is your purpose?
Part 2
Answer the following two questions with a 250-550-word response for each.
1. Your answers to the questions in Part 1 form the basis of your worldview. Now that you have articulated your worldview, evaluate it according to the practical test described in Chapter 2 of the textbook and the lecture. Can you live your worldview out in the world as we know it? Why or why not?
2. Reflect on your current understanding of the Christian faith. In other words, what is the essence of the Christian worldview? How does one become a Christian?

Week 2 Assignment (CWV 101 Christian Worldview All Assignments)
Origins Reflection
In this assignment, you will summarize beliefs about the origin of the universe and life, including what Christians believe, what you believe, and how people’s beliefs about origins might impact how they live.
After reflecting on chapters 1 and 2 of Genesis, create a 15-slide presentation covering the following topics, paying particular emphasis on item three:
Briefly explain the Genesis account of creation (first two chapters). The point is not to retell all aspects of the story in detail, but just to make the message of the Bible clear.
Explain and support your interpretation of the origin of the universe. Here you may want to address evolution, age of the earth, and whether or not it can be reconciled with the message of the Bible.
Express how your understanding of the origin of the universe impacts your worldview, specifically your view of God, of humanity, and responsibility to care for the earth.
The first slide will be the title slide including your name and course information. The last slide(s) will be your list of references. You may use the textbook, the lecture, or other scholarly references. Cite all sources, including the Bible, as you would in an essay. The in-text citations should be placed on the actual slides in the presentation so the audience can see them. Put basic content on the actual slides and elaborate on all your points in the slide notes. Also, utilize the attached “Origins Presentation Template” to complete the assignment.
In an effort to keep the file sizes reasonable, use no more than four low-resolution images. As in all aspects of this course, show respect for all other views, with no condescension. Keep your presentation positive and focused on what you believe, not on what you do not believe.
Use two to four resources, in addition to the Bible.
While style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using formatting guidelines, which can be found in the Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

Week 3 Assignment (CWV 101 Christian Worldview All Assignments)
Fall of Humanity: Then and Now
In this assignment, you will analyze the implications of the fall of humanity, consider the impact of the fall on humanity, and reflect on the continuing consequences of the fall for people throughout human history.
One of the central components of every worldview is the topic of human nature. The topic of human nature asks questions about human value, human flourishing, and human purpose. Within the Christian worldview, the issue of sin and the consequences of the fall factor prominently into the topic of human nature.
Use the “Fall of Humanity: Then and Now Worksheet” to complete this assignment.
In this two-part assignment, you will explore the topic of human nature from the perspective of the Christian worldview. The first part of the assignment involves gathering research. The second part of the assignment addresses how the effects of the fall are still evident in the world today.
While style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using documentation guidelines, which can be found in the Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

What is the best course of action for a Christian? (Note: The resolution should be consistent with Christian worldview commitments.)

What is your belief about ultimate reality?
Introduction
The world is a beautiful place, and it can be hard to understand how things came to be. In this post, I’ll explore some different beliefs about ultimate reality, from the monotheistic religions of Judaism and Christianity to nontheistic ones like pantheism.
Monotheism
Monotheism is the belief in one God. In the Jewish and Christian traditions, monotheism has a long history, but it’s not a natural state for humans. It requires belief in something supernatural—a god or gods who are separate from mankind and who created the world.
Nontheistic religions
Nontheistic religions are those that do not believe in God or gods. These include Buddhism, Jainism, and Taoism. They also include the Baha’i Faith (the largest nontheistic religion).
Naturalism
Naturalism is a belief that the physical universe is all there is and that everything can be explained by natural laws. It’s also a belief that there is no such thing as a supernatural being or god.
Naturalists believe that the mind is a product of the brain and human beings are like other animals in many ways. For example, we can think about things in our heads (because they are part of us) but we don’t know how this happens because nobody has figured out how it happens yet!
Polytheistic religions
Polytheistic religions believe in a variety of gods. For example, ancient Greek religion had many gods, such as Hathor and Zeus. These two were worshipped by many people at different times throughout history; this is called polytheism.
Polytheism differs from monotheism because it doesn’t say that there is only one god but rather many gods who are all equal and work together to create the world around us (in comparison to monotheism which states that there is only one god). Other forms include naturalism where all things come from nature itself or pantheism which sees everything as part of God’s creation.
Pantheism
Pantheism is the idea that God is the universe. It’s often used to describe the belief that everything in existence shares a single essence, which can be described as “God.” The word comes from two Greek words: pan (everything) and theos (a god).
Pantheists believe that all things are part of a larger whole known as God or Nature; in other words, they consider this entity to be an all-encompassing entity that encompasses every single thing in existence—including humans! Unlike many religious beliefs about spirituality or religion itself, pantheists don’t see humans as separate entities from nature or anything else in creation; rather, we’re just one part among many components needed for survival on this planet Earth—and if you take away any one component (like water), then your entire life could easily come crashing down around you!
It’s important to look at all the options.
You can’t just choose one and ignore the rest. You have to look at all the options, and then decide which one is best.
This is a great point because it’s easy to get caught up in our own biases when we’re deciding what makes sense to us. If we’re not careful about looking at all the possibilities, then we’ll end up making decisions based on biases instead of facts or evidence-based thinking that would lead us closer towards an objective truth about reality itself!
Conclusion
We hope this post has given you a better understanding of what ultimate reality is, and why it’s important to consider other belief systems besides monotheism. As you can see, there are many different ways to understand ultimate reality—and that’s okay!
