Case Analyses: Strategic Health Care
Case Analyses: Strategic Health Care
Each student will prepare written analyses of 3 cases in the textbook (and one other given case study). Each written case analysis is worth 25 points. As a suggested guide to conducting such strategic analyses, you should read Appendix A in the text entitled “Analyzing Strategic Health Care Cases”. In writing your case analysis, you may use an outline format with “expanded bullet points” as long as your ideas, statements, and recommendations are expressed fully. Please answer all case questions. Students are encouraged to do outside research (such as to visit websites) as needed to investigate contextual factors related to the case. Students are encouraged to be creative.
Each written case analysis should be at least two-pages long and completed in MS Word. All files must be submitted on Blackboard should be 12-pt font double-spaced,and 1-inch margins all around.
You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.
Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.

Introduction
Strategic health care is a rapidly changing industry. With the advancement of technology, there are new ideas and solutions to bring your organization closer to its customers. This blog will cover some of the newest trends in the industry that you should consider when planning for the future.
Air Medical
Air Medical is a service that provides emergency medical transportation by helicopter or airplane. Air Medical can be used for trauma, advanced life support, and critical care transport. Air Medevac serves as a lifeline for patients in remote areas who are unable to travel by road or air due to their condition.
Air medevac services include: Transporting patients from one location to another; providing on-scene medical assistance at accident scenes; transporting injured persons who require immediate access to specialized equipment or facilities such as burn units; performing prehospital care (i.e., patient stabilization); transporting casualties during natural disasters and armed conflict zones where roads have been destroyed
Ambulance Services
Ambulance services are a critical part of the healthcare system. They provide care to patients in a time of need, and their role cannot be overstated.
Ambulance services have been around since the dawn of time, but only recently have they become more prominent within our modern society. In fact, it may surprise you to know that many people don’t even realize how much importance ambulances play in our everyday lives. While some people may think that an ambulance is simply there for emergencies or accidents which is true the reality is that ambulances are also used extensively by doctors and nurses on a daily basis as well!
Bus Systems
Bus Systems are a convenient way to get around. They can be used in cities all over the world, and they’re especially popular in large cities like New York or Los Angeles where there are often multiple bus routes available on any given day. Bus Routes may also change depending on the time of day or season, so you might find yourself taking different buses at different times of day.
Bus systems also provide opportunities for local interaction with other riders because many of them have stops at places like restaurants and shops along their routes that allow you to take breaks from your journey before continuing again (and again).
Correctional Health Care
The correctional health care system is a unique and challenging environment. In addition to providing medical services, it also serves as the primary mental health provider for inmates and parolees in some jurisdictions.
Incorporating these needs into a comprehensive program requires an understanding of the diverse population served by correctional facilities, their associated needs and expectations, available resources, staffing levels/capabilities (e.g., nursing staff), available technologies/solutions (e.g., telemedicine) etc..
Emergency Medical Services
In today’s world, medical care is more important than ever. When you need it most, EMS is there for you and it’s not just a luxury: your life depends on it.
EMS providers are critical for public safety, too. They handle all kinds of emergencies from traffic collisions and heart attacks to natural disasters like hurricanes and earthquakes. In fact, according to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), “EMS personnel save lives each day.” And this number will only grow with time as we continue advancing technology and improving our understanding of human health so that we can better prevent disease in people who choose not to use traditional medical systems like hospitals or doctors offices.”
Fire Department EMS Programs
Fire departments are a good source of information on health care. Firefighters, EMTs and paramedics are generally well-versed in the field of medicine and have a deep understanding of what it means to be sick or injured. They can help you find the right people to help in any situation.
Fire departments have the equipment and personnel to provide emergency medical services (EMS) for both fire fighters and civilians alike. As such, their role as an EMS provider extends beyond simply providing emergency transportation for patients who need immediate attention away from home or work; they also provide treatment at hospitals if necessary after an injury has occurred due either directly or indirectly through third party involvement (i.e., another person’s negligence).
Government Agencies
Government agencies are the largest employers of paramedics, and they provide a stable career for paramedics. They also offer the most likely pension, health insurance and paid time off.
Health Care Facilities and Organizations
Health care providers include hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. Hospitals are the most common type of health care facility in the United States. They provide medical services such as diagnosis and treatment that help people recover from illness or injury. Clinics provide outpatient medical services such as vaccinations or physical exams for patients who do not need hospitalization but want more personalized attention from physicians and nurses than they can get in a hospital setting. Nursing homes are residential facilities where elderly people receive long-term care such as personal assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including meal preparation and bathing; health education about lifestyle changes needed when becoming frail; social interaction through programs like art therapy; access to mental health professionals when necessary; transportation if needed; financial support through government programs like Medicaid (Medicare Supplement Plan).
Healthcare Products and Supplies
Healthcare products and supplies are the most important part of healthcare. They are used to provide healthcare services, help people stay healthy and get better.
There are many different types of healthcare products and supplies that can be purchased from your local pharmacy or online. When you’re looking for a specific medication or medical device, it’s important to know what type you need so the right product will be chosen for your needs.*
Home Health Care
Home health care is a type of therapy that helps people live better lives. The most common types of patients who can benefit from home health care include:
-
The elderly
-
People recovering from an illness or injury
-
Individuals with special needs, such as mental or physical challenges
Hospice Care
Hospice care is a type of health care that focuses on providing comfort and support to patients with a terminal illness. Hospice care is provided by trained professionals, such as doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains and volunteers. These professionals work in partnership with family members or caregivers who may also receive hospice services from the same facility.
Hospices provide a wide range of services including counseling support for families at home; physical therapy programs for those who need help recovering from illness; respite care services when needed (such as helping someone get out of bed for an hour); bereavement counseling after death; volunteer opportunities for those interested in giving back; educational materials about pain management & palliative care management strategies related to end-of-life issues (elderly/palliative).
Medical Billing and Collections
Medical billing and collections is a growing field that is important for the health care industry to be aware of. In fact, it’s one of the most important parts of this industry. If you’re not familiar with medical billing and collections, here’s what you need to know:
-
Medical billing and collections helps physicians get paid for their services by tracking payments made by patients or third parties (like insurance companies).
-
Medical bills are written in different ways depending on how much information needs to be included about each service provided in order for them to be considered complete within certain guidelines set by federal laws such as Medicare Part A & B or Medicaid reimbursements.
Paramedic Service/Private Ambulance Companies
Paramedic Services
Paramedic Services, or PAS for short, are a type of healthcare provider that can be hired as an independent contractor to provide emergency services. PASs can be hired by hospitals or private ambulance companies and they typically provide care at the scene of a medical emergency until paramedics arrive on scene and take over. Paramedics are trained in basic life support (BLS), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS) and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). In addition to providing pre-hospital care, they often provide post-hospital care too if you need it after being transported by ambulance or helicopter
It is a rapidly changing industry.
As you may have noticed, the health care industry is changing rapidly. The technologies and regulations that were once new can now be found in every hospital across the country. New business models, opportunities and market conditions are constantly emerging. With these changes come new competitors who are working hard to stay ahead of their competitors by offering better services or lower costs than their rivals.
Conclusion
In today’s fast-paced world, it is crucial that you choose the right medical facility for your needs. Strategic
