Introduction
Racism, prejudice and discrimination are all different types of bigotry that can be found in the workplace.
Institutionalized racism is about systems of oppression.
Institutionalized racism is about systems of oppression. Systems of oppression are built into the structure of society and continue to affect people negatively, even when individuals don’t experience it directly.
Institutionalized racism can be seen in many ways:

Laws that perpetuate racial inequity and inequality;

Privilege given to white people over people of color;

Language used by society or media that reinforces stereotypes about race (such as “all black people are criminals,” “all Asian Americans are good at math,” etc.).
Racism is often confused with prejudice, bigotry, or discrimination.

Prejudice refers to negative feelings about an individual’s ethnic origin or race; bigotry refers to irrational hatred of people based on their ethnicity or race. Discrimination is the act of treating someone unfairly because of his/her ethnicity or race.
Racism can be systemic in that it is embedded in institutions (such as schools) and policies that support it through unequal treatment—for example, a school system may give preferential treatment to students who are white while denying it to those who identify themselves as African American or Latino/a. When this happens over time—and particularly if there are no consequences for engaging in discriminatory behavior—it becomes institutionalized racism
Prejudice can be described as a rigid and unfair generalization about an entire category of people.
Prejudice is a generalization that is often based on stereotypes, and can be positive or negative. Prejudice can also be described as an attitude of superiority toward another group, due to the belief that they are inferior to you and/or your group.
In order for someone to be prejudiced against another person or group, there must first be prejudice within themselves: they must have some sort of negative view about those people or groups in question. This view then gets passed along through social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram where people share their opinions about each other’s races/ethnicities with one another through memes & hashtags (e.g., #WhitePrivilege).

The most common forms of bigotry are based on ignorance and fear (fear of difference), misunderstanding (only seeing part of what’s going on), inattention to facts that contradict one’s position (for example: believing that all black people are criminals), opinionated beliefs about what constitutes justice or equality based on personal experience rather than empirical evidence
Discrimination is the action or policy of treating someone unfairly because they belong to a particular group.
Discrimination can be based on race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation and disability. It may also involve the failure to provide services or benefits in an equal way to people who belong to a particular group.
Discrimination can occur whether or not intentional. For example: when someone treats another person less favourably because of their race or nationality (direct discrimination), but this is not always deliberate; it may have arisen from unconscious bias such as stereotypes that lead us to associate certain groups with negative qualities in our minds. Similarly there are indirect forms of discrimination where people are treated unfairly as a result of factors outside their control such as social class differences (elderly people being denied jobs due to ageism). Finally there are cases where laws prohibit acts which have been deemed discriminatory so even if no one intended any harm at all it could still be considered illegal under certain circumstances such as race hate speech laws set up after World War II when Nazi Germany racially persecuted its Jewish population during WWII.”
