DQ1
Present one theory or model within the field of public health which describes either how people maintain health and/or how illness is caused? Presentation of the theory or model may be submitted in graphic or narrative format. Even if this is not your personal viewpoint/belief, how can these multiple theories and models be beneficial to public health professionals? It is not appropriate to repeat one that has already been posted unless you are providing new information. Review all peer submissions and become familiar with the multiple theories and models. Respond to three peers’s posts asking any questions or verifying your analysis of the theory/model.

How people maintain health and how illness is caused
Introduction
People are always talking about being healthy and maintaining good health. We hear it from our parents, grandparents and teachers. There are many ways in which people can maintain their health, but what causes illness? In this article we will explore some of the factors that affect your health both physically and mentally:
How people maintain health and how illness is caused
In the first place, health is maintained by good habits. A person who eats a healthy diet and exercises regularly will have a better chance of maintaining his or her body weight than a person who does not eat well or exercise regularly.
Secondly, illness is caused by bad habits such as smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol that lead to certain diseases like cancer etc., which can be prevented if people stop smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol from time to time at least once in two weeks so that their bodies get rid off harmful chemicals inside them due to these bad habits like smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol all day long every day without stopping even for 10 minutes during those periods just like what we do when we go out somewhere else apart from where I live now (the city).
If you want good health then try following these rules:
How Health is maintained
Health is maintained by a number of factors. These include:
-
The right environment. A healthy body needs to be in a healthy environment, which can be achieved through proper hygiene and diet.
-
Regular exercise. Exercise improves the body’s health by increasing muscle strength and flexibility, improving breathing capacity, reducing stress levels and relieving anxiety or depression in some cases (depending on your condition).
-
Eating well-balanced meals regularly throughout the day to avoid overeating which will lead to weight gain or under eating which will result in weight loss without any effort from you at all!
How illness is caused
Illness is caused by a disease or disorder.
For example, a person who gets sick from the flu virus can be said to have had an illness caused by the flu virus. The same thing applies to other illnesses like pneumonia and tuberculosis.
Some types of bacteria can also cause illness in people who are healthy enough to fight them off on their own but not strong enough for long-term health problems like cancerous tumors or heart disease (cardiovascular disease).
An unclean and unhealthy environment around us.
-
Cleanliness is important for our health.
-
Unclean surroundings can cause illness.
-
A clean home and school helps to keep children healthy, while a clean public place can prevent the spread of germs and disease.
The relationship between a healthy body and a healthy mind.
You might be surprised to learn that physical and mental health are not only linked, but also mutually dependent. The relationship between a healthy body and a healthy mind can be seen as a circle: physical health affects mental health, which in turn affects physical health; or you could think of it like this: if your body is unhealthy, then it will make you feel anxious or depressed; if you have anxiety or depression (or both), there may not be enough serotonin in your brain to allow for good sleep patterns; once these factors come into play during the day at work or schoolwork—or even worse while playing sports—you experience fatigue which makes it harder to concentrate on tasks at hand.
This cycle plays out over time so that eventually what starts out as an occasional bad mood becomes constant exhaustion resulting from stress-induced insomnia combined with serious bouts of depression which further decreases productivity at work/school because they don’t feel well enough physically nor mentally willing themselves toward completing tasks efficiently enough – hence why we see such high rates among those suffering from chronic conditions like cancer!
The influence of Alcohol, smoking and other drugs on health.
Alcohol and tobacco are harmful to health. The harmful effects of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs on the brain, heart and other organs are well known.
Alcohol affects people in a number of ways. It can cause you to feel sleepy or tired after drinking just a small amount (1-2 units). Alcohol also increases your risk of getting into fights with others because it affects judgment, coordination and reaction time.
Smoking cigarettes is another major problem that causes thousands of deaths every year in Australia alone! Smoking causes lung cancer as well as many other diseases including emphysema which reduces oxygen supply to different parts inside our bodies like lungs etc., resulting in death!
The impact of diet on health.
Diet is the most important part of maintaining health. A healthy diet can prevent or delay many diseases and improve your overall well-being, while an unhealthy one can cause disease.
A healthy diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains (e.g., brown rice or whole wheat), lean meats such as chicken or fish with low fat content, low-fat dairy products (butter is OK) along with small amounts of nuts & seeds; it also limits added salt intake since it has been linked with increased blood pressure levels in some people who have hypertension/high blood pressure problems which could be alleviated by reducing sodium intake from processed foods that contain high amounts of sodium chloride found in condiments like soy sauce etcetera.”
Personal safety and first aid.
First aid is a set of skills needed to help someone who has been injured or sick. It can be performed by people who are not medical professionals, but it’s important that you know how to perform first aid in the case of an emergency.
-
First aid includes providing immediate assistance and preventing further harm from occurring until professional help arrives.
-
If someone has been bitten by a dog or other animal, you should wash the wound with soap and water as soon as possible (and then apply antiseptic cream), remove any foreign objects stuck in their mouth (such as nails), apply pressure for at least five minutes if possible, immobilize their arm/legs so they don’t move around too much while waiting for an ambulance to arrive; don’t let them suck on anything because this could cause serious damage!
Relationships with family, friends, teachers and others.
-
Relationships with family, friends, teachers and others.
-
People who can help you to maintain your health include:
-
Family members or friends who support you during illness or recovery.
-
Your doctor (if you have one) who provides information about treatment options.
-
Teachers at school who provide moral support when needed while recovering from an illness in the classroom setting.
Health problems related to adolescence.
It’s normal to experience changes in your body and emotions during adolescence, but there are some things you can do to help yourself.
Your family is key to helping you cope with these changes. If your parents don’t understand what’s going on, they may not know how to support you through it all. If your parents are supportive, they’ll be able to help take care of any physical or emotional needs that come up as part of growing up.
It’s also important that friends are supportive too; they should make time for each other when possible (even if this means taking time away from activities) so that everyone has someone who cares about them enough not just because they’re cool friends but because WE’RE ALL FAMILY!!
Takeaway:
If you’re looking for ways to maintain good health, there are a few things you can do:
-
Get enough sleep. The right amount of sleep is important for maintaining optimal health. It’s also important to get enough sleep even when you’re sick, because it helps your body recover from illness faster and more effectively than if they hadn’t had sleep at all.
-
Exercise regularly—but not too much! You should exercise at least once every day; however, people who are overweight or have other health conditions should talk with their doctor before starting an exercise program because they may need to start with less activity than recommended by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) guidelines.* Eat well-balanced meals every day that include plenty of fruits & vegetables in their meal plan! This will help improve overall nutrition intake which leads directly into better overall health outcomes including lower rates of heart disease/stroke risk factors such as high cholesterol levels.”
Conclusion
We hope that you have found this article informative. The effects of our environment on our health are not always obvious, but they can be very serious and potentially deadly. Health is something that everyone should take care of because it may save your life in the future.
