Factors that affect chronic illness
Introduction
Chronic illness is a common and serious condition that affects millions of Americans. It can be caused by a number, but not all chronic illnesses are genetic or environmental in nature. For example, some people inherit certain genes that make them more susceptible to certain infections or viruses—or even cause them to develop cancer early on in life. However, there are many other factors that can affect the development of chronic illnesses such as:
Genetics
The genetic makeup of each individual plays a large role in how they respond to environmental factors. Some people may be more susceptible than others to chronic illness, while others can fight it off with relative ease. For example, you may inherit your parents’ genes for developing heart disease or diabetes. This means that if one parent has it and the other doesn’t, odds are that you will develop symptoms of either condition as well—even if both parents have healthy lifestyles!
In addition to genetic inheritance (passed down from parent), genes can also be changed by environmental factors like diet and lifestyle choices made by an individual over time. If someone eats poorly while still having access to healthy foods like fruits and vegetables every day but then starts exercising regularly after seeing results on social media pages like Instagram where fitness gurus post before/after pictures of themselves looking leaner than ever before…this person’s body will start producing certain chemicals (like those found in blood) differently than those produced by someone who eats only junk food for lunch every day with no exercise plan whatsoever – forcing them into cardiac arrest within minutes because their heart was already suffering from years worth of hardening due lack LDL cholesterol buildup inside arteries walls leading up through coronary arteries toward heart muscle itself located underneath rib cage area near sternum bone structure between ribs on upper chest area just above bellybutton
Environment
-
Air quality
-
Noise levels
-
Water supply and sanitation, including access to safe drinking water.
Lifestyle
The lifestyle choices you make can affect your health. You may be aware of the negative effects of smoking and excessive drinking, but there are many other factors that play a role in chronic illness. One example is diet and nutrition, which can greatly affect your overall well-being.
-
Eat healthy foods: A healthy diet helps prevent disease by keeping your body strong and healthy. A balanced diet includes plenty of fruits and vegetables as well as lean meats (such as chicken or fish), whole grains like brown rice or quinoa, beans/legumes such as chickpeas or tofu; complex carbs like sweet potatoes; low-fat dairy products like skim milk mixed with yogurt instead of whole milk cheese slices on sandwiches etc.; protein sources like eggs whites only because they contain no cholesterol nor saturated fats which contribute to heart disease risk factors over time if consumed frequently enough – regular exercise increases endurance capacity while reducing body weight over time so keep up with activity levels throughout life!
Fungal infections and pathogens
Fungi are present in the environment, and they can be harmful to humans. Some fungi cause chronic illness including:
-
Candida albicans (a yeast)
-
Cryptococcus neoformans (a fungus)
A lot of factors can affect chronic illnesses
There are a lot of factors that can affect chronic illness. Here are a few:
-
Genetics – Some people are more susceptible to certain illnesses than others, and this is largely determined by genetics. This can be passed down from generation to generation in families, or it could be something you inherited from your parents.
-
Environment – The environment in which you live has an impact on the development of chronic illnesses like cancer and heart disease. For example, if you live near toxic waste sites or have been exposed to pesticides while growing up, then these factors may put you at higher risk for developing cancer later on in life.
-
Lifestyle choices – Smoking tobacco products increases your risk for lung cancer; drinking alcohol increases the risk for liver disease; eating too much salt leads to high blood pressure; sitting around all day watching TV leads to obesity (which increases health problems).
Conclusion
Now that you have a better understanding of how chronic illness factors work, it’s time to get started on your treatment plan. If you need help finding an integrative medicine doctor or other medical professional in your area, try searching for them on Yelp!
