Many businesses/organizations have performance problems that can be reevaluated to improve performance. Explain Research Problem and Problem Statement.
Details: Write a paper of 500-750 words (not including the title page and reference page) on your proposed problem description for your EBP project. The paper should address the following:
- Describe the background of the problem. Tell the story of the issue and why it deserves attention.
- Identify the stakeholders/change agents. Who or what organizations are concerned about, may benefit from, or are affected by this proposal. List the interested parties, patients, students, agencies, Joint Commission, etc.
- Provide the PICOT question. (PICOT: Population-Intervention-Comparison-Outcome-Timeframe). Make sure that the question fits with your graduate degree specialization.
- State the purpose and project objectives in specific, realistic, and measurable terms. The objective should address what is to be gained. This is a restatement of the question, providing focus. Measurements need to be taken before and after the evidence-based practice is introduced to identify the expected changes.
- Provide supportive rationale that the problem or issue is an important one for nursing to resolve using relevant professional literature sources.
Develop an initial reference list to ensure that there is adequate literature to support your evidence-based practice project. Follow the “Steps to an Efficient Search to Answer a Clinical Question” box in chapter 3 of the textbook. Refer to the “Search Method Example” as the format in which to compile this data.
- The majority of references should be research articles. However, national sources such as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), Department of Health and Human Resources (HHS), or the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and others may be used when you are gathering statistics to provide the rationale for the problem.
- Once you get into the literature, you may find there is very little research to support your topic and you will have to start all over again. Remember, in order for this to be an evidence-based project, you must have enough evidence to introduce this as a practice change. If you find that you do not have enough supporting evidence to change a practice, then further research would need to be conducted.

Explaining research Problem and Problem Statement
A research problem is a specific issue or set of issues that you will be addressing in your research. It is important to distinguish between the two as they are different concepts. A problem statement is a brief description of the issues that need to be addressed by a research project. It should include a clear statement of the problem, the purpose of the research, and any relevant background information. The problem statement should be concise and focused. It should not contain any unnecessary or irrelevant information. The goal of the problem statement is to clearly and concisely state the problem that the research will be addressing.
What is a research problem?
A research problem is a question or issue that a researcher wants to find an answer to. In order to do this, they need to collect data and evidence through various methods of research. The problem statement is a brief description of the problem that the researcher wants to solve. It should be clear and concise, and state what the researcher is trying to find out.
What is a problem statement?
A problem statement is a concise description of an issue to be addressed or a condition to be improved. It identifies the gap between the current (problem) state and the desired (goal) state of a process or product. Typically, a problem statement includes:
a) Background information
b) Facts and figures supporting why this is a problem
c) The specific problem to be addressed
d) The target audience for the proposed solution
e) The benefits of solving the problem
How to write a research problem statement
The first step in writing a research problem statement is to identify the general problem that your research will address. To do this, you need to brainstorm a list of potential problems that your research could help to solve. Once you have identified a general problem, you can then narrow it down to a more specific research problem that you will address in your paper.
When writing a research problem statement, it is important to be as clear and concise as possible. You want to make sure that your reader understands the problem that you are trying to address. Be sure to state the problem in a way that is easy for your reader to understand. Additionally, be sure to explain why this problem is important and why it needs to be addressed.
How to select a research problem
When you are trying to select a research problem, it is important to think about what you are interested in and what you want to know more about. It can be helpful to look at your past research projects to see if there is anything that you are particularly passionate about. Once you have an idea of what you would like to research, you can start looking for a problem that exists within that topic area.
There are a few different ways to go about finding a research problem. You can search for existing literature on your topic of interest and look for gaps or unanswered questions. Alternatively, you can observe your surroundings and look for problems that need to be addressed. Once you have found a problem that you would like to investigate further, it is important to define it clearly so that you can develop a focused research question.
Examples of research problems
There is no one answer to the question, “What are some examples of research problems?” The type of problem you select for your research will depend on your discipline, topic, and methodology. However, there are some common types of research problems that are often seen in different fields.
One example of a research problem is exploring how a particular phenomena occurs. For instance, you could study how sleep deprivation affects memory recall. Another example of a research problem is trying to understand why a certain population behaves in a certain way. For example, you could study why people living in poverty are more likely to suffer from mental health issues.
These are just two examples of research problems. Depending on your discipline and methodology, there are many other types of problems that you could explore in your research.
