Introduction
The article “Meaning and emotion in chimpanzee gestures” by Coyne et al. was published in the journal Human Nature. The article argues that humans should continue to rely on gesture to communicate, as opposed to using facial expressions and other body language cues like chimpanzees do. This particular paper has been criticized for making some faulty assumptions about human nature, which we’ll explore here!

Coyne et al. found that people who ate a vegetarian diet had a lower risk of heart disease, cancer and all-cause mortality than those who ate meat. The implications of this research are clear: vegetarians live longer and healthier lives than meat eaters.
