Introduction
The health care industry is a challenging one. From changing reimbursement models to increasing demands from patients and their families, it can be hard to keep up with all of the changes that occur on a daily basis. In addition, the industry is also undergoing rapid change with technology and innovation being two major trends affecting this sector.

You might be surprised to learn that the lack of time is one of the biggest challenges to sustaining a strong culture and community in health care. There’s simply not enough time for you to build relationships with people, connect with them, create a strong culture and community, relax or reflect on what’s working well for you as an organization or team (and what isn’t), figure out how to build culture and community—and still get your work done!
Silos and tunnel vision
Silos are a problem in health care. They can lead to tunnel vision, which presents itself in how we approach our work and how we think about it.
For example, if you have a patient who needs help with a procedure and you’re assigned that case by the nurse manager or physician assistant (PA), then it can feel like all eyes are on you because of your title. If there’s another person doing similar work—such as an RN or LPN—you may find yourself feeling competitive with them instead of working together as colleagues who are trying to help one another out.
Because silos exist within organizations across different levels of an organization (such as at the department or hospital level), they can also affect how people communicate with one another within teams/departments/organizations at large as well as between organizations themselves

Lack of resources is a common challenge for any health care organization. Resources can be time, focus and community.

Time: As the saying goes, “time is money”. With limited resources you may find yourself feeling like there’s not enough hours in the day or weeks in a year to do what needs to get done.

Focus: It takes time for employees to get up-to-speed on new procedures or technology that has been introduced into your organization (or even just one department). A lack of focus can lead to burn out and an inability for individuals within your organization feel engaged with their work because they feel they don’t have enough information on which they need guidance from their managers/leadership team members or peers at other departments within your organization who are also trying hard not only keep up but also stay ahead of everyone else around them so they never fall behind too far behind everyone else—and then we end up talking about all those things again because it’s just too much work!
Constant change
As health care continues to evolve and change, it becomes essential for organizations to adapt and respond. To do this effectively, you must be flexible, responsive and able to move quickly. You must also be open-minded when it comes time for new ideas or approaches that might lead your organization in a different direction from where you originally started out. If a new approach is successful then great! But if not then what?
The key here is finding balance between work life and personal life; being willing to fail while also learning from those failures (and successes). In order for this type of culture/community building process work well there needs to be collaboration among colleagues at all levels within an organization which includes sharing ideas among themselves which eventually leads them down paths that can help improve our overall experience within healthcare facilities across North America today

While it may be difficult to sustain culture when you’re working in health care, there are a few ways to make it easier. Take the time to build relationships with your team members and coworkers. Spend time with them outside of work, too! You’ll find that this makes it easier for everyone to get along even when things aren’t going well or how much time does it take? It takes about 30 minutes per day for someone who is involved in their community: what will happen if we add two hours every week? One hour every day? You can do this by volunteering at a local organization or taking part in an event that offers free food or drinks for those who spend less than $10 on food each month.”
