Assignment: Overview of the Consultation Process Assignment: Overview of the Consultation Process Introduction and Overview of the Consultation Process One key concern in healthcare is management of change, which occurs continuously. Managing change is about handling the complexity of the process. It entails evaluating, planning and implementing new procedures, tactics and strategies and evaluating the relevance of the change. The purpose of change is to facilitate people to adopt new ways of doing things. In a healthcare setting, change promotes better practices and result in better patient outcomes. The purpose of this consultation is to identify the strengths and weaknesses within Central State Hospital [CSH], a state psychiatric facility and use the data to propose a change to improve a process that has been identified as ineffective. This consultation provides an overview of the strengths and weakness within the facility and development of a change process to improve patient outcomes. For this consultation process, I will explore any gaps and weaknesses in the organization that would impact negative patient care. Data will be collected through website review, patient assessment and nurse leader interview. ORDER INSTRUCTIONS-COMPLIANT NURSING PAPERS Organizational Analysis-Description of Organization CSH, originally known as the Central Lunatic Asylum, is a state psychiatric hospital in Virginia dating back to 1870. In the 1950s a Maximum Security Forensic Unit [MSFU] was built to evaluate and treat patients referred by the court systems. A geriatric treatment center was also built to serve the chronically ill and bedridden. Over the course of time, there were five treatment buildings constructed and four adult treatment buildings were built. The Civil Adult Treatment Programs at CSH provide services to patients over 18 years old ranging from short term, quick re-entry to the community and long term intensive treatment for the most seriously mentally ill, often turned away from for-profit hospitals. CSH is Virginias only Forensic Mental Health Unit serving patients involved in the criminal justice system. The facility can hold 495 beds and sees over 5,000 patients per year ranging in length of stay. Patients on the Maximum Security Forensic Unit (Building 39) are undergoing competency to stand trial hearings, restoration services to prepare them for trial or have already been found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) and are serving their time at CSH. Everyone on this unit has a felony pending. Within this unit are six wards; five wards housing men and one housing women. On the Civil Adult Treatment Unit, (Buildings 94, 95 & 96) patients either have misdemeanor charges or have been sentenced to service their time in the state hospital. Overtime, these patients have progressed to receiving more freedoms (unlike MSFU) such as increased visitations, less restrictive rules and more liberties with activities and day passes. The typical length of stay for the civil unit can vary based on a patients progression to be restored ? Assignment: Overview of the Consultation Process Order Now

Overview of the Consultation Process
Introduction
We believe that every patient should feel welcome and at ease during their visit. That’s why we hand-pick our experts to make you feel completely comfortable during the consultation process.
MAKE A CONSULTATION APPOINTMENT
To book an appointment, call or fill out the form below. You will need to bring a copy of your insurance card and photo ID with you for identification purposes.
We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your appointment time so that we can complete all necessary paperwork with you in advance.
GET READY FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
You and your healthcare provider should have the following items with you when you meet:
-
Your insurance card.
-
A list of questions. This is a good time to bring up any concerns or questions that may arise during the consultation, such as if there are any medications that you take regularly that might need to be adjusted as a result of starting antibiotics or other medications (such as high blood pressure) that could impact how well they work together. It’s also helpful to discuss what side effects are possible with your antibiotic regimen and how they might affect other aspects of your life like work, family responsibilities, etc., so make sure these topics are on hand too!
-
Your medical records if possible (those are important!). We recommend bringing these along even though they aren’t required by law—it’s always better safe than sorry!
CONSULTATION PROCESS
-
The consultation process is a series of steps that you complete with your mental health professional.
-
Your mental health professional will help you identify what’s going on and how it can affect your life, as well as provide support and resources to help you manage these challenges.
-
The goal of the consultation is for both parties to understand the nature of their relationship—and for them both to agree on an appropriate next step together. This might include:
-
a discussion about what could be done differently;
-
a plan for how problems can be resolved; or
-
a referral
FIRST MEETING WITH OUR TEAM
The first meeting with our team is an important step in the consultation process. During this meeting, you will learn about our organization and team members’ roles within it. We’ll discuss what we do here at Town Hall, as well as how we can assist you with your project or business idea.
It’s also a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better—and see if there are any concerns or questions that need further exploration before proceeding further down this path together!
To prepare yourself for this meeting: bring pen and paper (or your laptop) along so that we can take notes during the conversation; wear comfortable clothes; bring some snacks if possible (we usually have snacks available).
FOLLOW UP VISITS
Follow-up visits are an important part of your overall treatment. You can expect to return to the office for follow-up consultations at least twice per week, depending on your individual needs. Your doctor will discuss any changes in your condition and treatments that may have been made based on results from previous visits.
Your doctor will also discuss any medications you are taking or considering taking during these visits. If there are any questions about any medications or supplements, ask them directly so that they can be addressed right away!
TIME FRAME & EXPECTATIONS (DURING AND AFTER TREATMENT)
You will be given a detailed timeline of the consultation process and how long it will take. This can range from several weeks to months, depending on the type of treatment you are receiving and how many treatments are required.
Once you have been diagnosed with depression or another mental health condition, your doctor may suggest that you begin treatment immediately. However, most people find that it’s best to wait until their symptoms improve before beginning any treatment plan—this allows them time for their mind and body to heal naturally without medication being involved at all. There are many different types of therapies available; however no one type suits everyone perfectly so discuss which option(s) suit your needs best with your doctor before starting anything new!
After undergoing certain types of therapies (such as cognitive behavioral therapy), typically 80%+ recovery occurs within 6-12 months after completing treatment sessions regularly over time (ie: weekly sessions). After this point though there could still be some residual effects left behind such as increased sadness levels compared those who did not receive any sort of psychological support whatsoever throughout life thus allowing them more room than ever before just because they knew someone cared about them even though sometimes we forget how important those connections really mean until someone comes along unexpectedly offering unconditional love unconditionally too which makes everything seem worth while again 🙂

PAYMENT PLANS AND INSURANCE INFORMATION
Once you have submitted your application, the insurance company will contact you within 60 days. If they decide to approve coverage for your medical conditions, they will send out an Authorization for Coverage (AFC) which gives you permission to start treatment at a participating provider.
If approved, the AFC must be signed by both parties before any treatment begins—and this could mean some waiting time on the part of both patients and physicians. However, many insurance companies allow patients up until 30 days after receiving their AFCs before needing to pay out-of-pocket expenses like doctor visits or lab tests.
Takeaway:
We want to make sure that your visit with us is a positive one. We will do our best to answer any questions you may have during the consultation process, and we hope to see you soon!
Conclusion
Your doctor will discuss your symptoms, the recommended treatment and any other concerns you may have. The appointment should last between 30 minutes and an hour. You can expect to be seen by a team of experts in their specialty such as plastic surgeons, endocrinologists, or orthodontists if you need additional care after surgery or dental treatment
