-
Statement of purpose and mission statements
-
Academic goals and principles (elements, processes)
-
Course design (content area structure; sequence of courses; number of credits needed to complete degree requirements)

The curriculum components are organized into five categories:

Professional nursing practice, including clinical practice and professional development.
-
Basic science, including anatomy and physiology; chemistry; biology; psychology (social science); health assessment; pathophysiology; pharmacology/pharmacotherapeutics/pharmacology laboratory procedures.* Cognitive behavioral therapy for adults with mental illnesses (CBT-A).
III. Enabling Competencies
Enabling competencies are the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that nurses need to be competent in their practice. These include both broad domains like ethics and professionalism as well as more specific areas like physical assessment or communication skills.
The purpose of enabling competencies is to provide a framework for the development of baccalaureate nursing education by determining what it takes for graduates to enter practice effectively. The AACN Commission on Accreditation has identified seven essential components:1) Competence in professional judgment; 2) Knowledge of patient care systems; 3) Interpersonal relationships with patients, families/caregivers and other members of health teams; 4) Communication skills including oral presentation style delivery appropriate for audiences within scope (e.g., physicians); 5) Appropriate use & management of technology used within scope such as computers tablets & phones etc.; 6) Usefulness towards self improvement which includes learning from mistakes made during practicum placements…
