What has to be done is create powerpoint research proposal the topic has to be dealing with graduate students it can be about whatever but graduate students have to be apart of the research. I chose the quantitative approach
It probably will not let you click the link above due to my university credentials may have to go in there but you can go to powerpoint in the browswer and then upload the link i just put down below once you click powerpoint and the powerpoint will pop up because the powerpoint example i posted below is what you have to use to do the assigment the instructions are within once you knw the steps you have to delete everything that is in the bullets but the heading
The purpose of this final assignment is to develop your own subtopic within the broader topic selected for this quarter. You will compose a research proposal outline using the resources from this course and any other articles you find to support your subtopic. You may take either a qualitative or quantitative approach.
Use one of the following templates to explore the subtopic you are proposing and complete all the research characteristics that are reflected in each of the PowerPoint slides:
- Final Assignment – Qualitative Template [PPTX] Download Final Assignment – Qualitative Template [PPTX].
- Final Assignment – Quantitative Template [PPTX] Download Final Assignment – Quantitative Template [PPTX].
Please leave all subheadings in the PowerPoint slides and build your content under those subheadings. Use a sentence-style outline and be sure to explain your points clearly. Also, be sure to use cited support throughout the outline. Once completed, this template can serve as a guide for your own research proposal project in the future.
This assignment requires that you use your accumulated knowledge about the elements of research. In this final project, you will create a proposal for how you might study the topic selected for this quarter, either qualitatively or quantitatively.
A PowerPoint template has been provided for you to outline your ideas. Each slide has a major heading that focuses on the given research component. The major headings are accompanied by subheadings that signal the main points to be addressed. As this is a PowerPoint presentation, you are not asked to provide a full narrative, but rather clear and concise bullet points in brief sentence style, demonstrating your understanding of each aspect of the plan. Please use accurate APA style and format for this assignment including citations and references. Detailed instructions for this assignment are embedded in the PowerPoint template. Please follow the instructions and remove the instructions from the final assignment submission.

Assignment Instructions (Please remove this slide prior to submission of your assignment.)
This assignment requires that you use what we have learned in class about the elements of a research study to create your own logical representation of a research plan/proposal in a short sentence outline form. The research topic you select should focus on the topic selected for this course. This power point template should be filled in with your proposal contents. Each slide in the template has a major heading that focuses on each research plan component. The major headings have subheadings that signal the main content areas where you will provide information to complete your research plan outline. Please do not remove the headings, as they give format to your research proposal outline. Be sure to propose a research project that is focused on the topic selected for this quarter to create a well-supported/well-cited quantitative research proposal outline. You may use the literature provided for previous assignments in this course, supportive research that you find in other peer-reviewed journal articles, and the course textbook to support your proposal.
Supplemental Instructions (Please delete this slide before submission of your assignment.)
This template has embedded tips for success and instructions for each component of the research proposal outline. Following these instructions is very important for your success on this assignment. Please:
Delete all embedded tips/instructions prior to submission of the assignment.
Do not delete headings and subheadings.
Use this power point deck as provided (don’t add colorful graphics, slides, sounds, or animation) as this is the traditional format for an academic presentation.
Include a minimum of four peer-reviewed journal articles as well as the textbook as sources for your proposal. Please do not use dissertations, websites, or presentations as source materials.
Introduction
Statement of the Problem
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): A problem statement is a short, clear description of the topic/research problem to be researched. It sets up the context, relevance and aims of the project. It should tell the audience a) what is already known about a topic/target population[with cited support], and b) what is unknown about a topic/target population [what is unknown is the gap in literature]. This paragraph should include 3-5 sentences and cited support from scholarly literature.
Purpose of the Study
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): The purpose statement is meant to inform the audience of the purpose of the study. In every research study, the primary purpose is to answer the research question. The language of the purpose statement should align with the research question. Guidance for formulating the purpose statement for quantitative studies is on p.126 in the Creswell and Creswell (2023) text.
Introduction, continued
Research Question(s) and hypotheses
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): The research question should be based on the research problem. Quantitative research questions are specific questions that can be answered by conducting statistical analysis. Quantitative research question key words: effect, affect, relationship, cause, difference, predict, correlate, etc. The format for quantitative research questions is in the Creswell and Creswell (2023) text on p.144. Please note the null and alternative hypotheses in this section of the proposal. Null: The null hypothesis states that there is NOT statistical significance between two variables. Alternative: The alternative hypothesis states that there is a statistical significance among variables. Both hypotheses should use identical language. The only word that should be different is the word “not”. Both hypotheses should be worded to align with research question(s).
Theoretical Perspective
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): Quantitative studies are developed based on a specific theory or theories [aka theoretical framework, theoretical lens, theoretical perspective]. This section should briefly describe the theory you have selected to use for your proposal. The actual theory should be cited and any descriptive information you provide should also include cited support. This paragraph should explain how the selected theory is relevant to the research problem/question/purpose.
Methods
Type of Research Design
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): Use cited support for your choice of design. The types of quantitative research designs are:
Experimental (random assignment and manipulated variable)
Quasi-experimental (no random assignment and manipulated variable)
Nonexperimental (no random assignment and no manipulated variable)
Single Subject (treatment administered overt time to a single individual or small number of individuals)
Longitudinal (data collection over time to examine the development of ideas and trends)
Population, Sample, and Participants
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): Population consists of the entire population (e.g., every graduate student in an online program). Sample consists of a smaller number of participants from the population (e.g., first generation graduate students at Capella enrolled in an online program) and the number of participants you anticipate will be in your study[sample = N]. Participants should be described by the inclusion/exclusion criteria for the sample (e.g., must be 18 years of age, currently enrolled in an online program)
Data Collection Instruments, Variables, and Materials
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): Data collection instruments are the actual instruments used to measure a construct (e.g., the Grit Scale to measure grit) . Variables consist of the independent and dependent variables. These should be labeled as IV= [name of variable] and DV= [name of variable]. Materials can consist of any materials you may have created or used in the data collection process (e.g., a survey, demographics questionnaire, etc.)
Methods, continued
Data Collection Procedures
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): Data Collection Procedures should describe how you collected the data (e.g., mailed out surveys, online surveys, etc.). When possible, use cited support for your choices.
Data Analysis Procedures
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): Data analysis procedures should describe how you statistically analyzed the data to answer the research question (e.g., ANOVA, multiple regression, t-test, etc.). This section should include cited support for your choices.
Anticipated Ethical Issues
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): should describe any possible ethical considerations. Use cited support from the Belmont Report and APA Code of Ethics or other sources that describe ethical conduct. Include information about the confidentiality/anonymity of your participants, how you might incentivize them, how you will engage in informed consent, your plans to obtain IRB approval, etc. Please note that every study with human participants has ethical considerations. Please do not write “There are no ethical considerations.”
Expected Findings
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): This section should include a robust paragraph explaining how findings from past peer-reviewed research studies that are similar to your proposed study lead to what you may expect to find from your own data collection if the study was actually conducted. Do not use dissertations or websites as sources for your proposal. This section should have cited support from at least three other scholarly sources. The paragraph should be at least 4-5 sentences in length. Remember that this research is proposed. It hasn’t occurred yet meaning all of the language of the proposal should be in future tense.
References
Embedded tips for success (please remove them prior to submission): Your outline of a research proposal should include a minimum of 4 references from published peer-reviewed research studies as well as the Creswell and Creswell textbook. Do not use dissertations or websites as sources for your proposal. The reference list should be in correct APA 7th Edition formatting. If you have a reference listed, a citation for that reference should be included somewhere in your research proposal outline. Please note that we do not deduct points for a missing hanging indentation because PowerPoint sometimes won’t ”hold” the indentation, but remember this is an important part of APA style. APA style and formatting is heavily weighted in this assignment. Look back at your previous assignments for reminders we’ve given in the feedback in your grade rubrics.
