Compare United States and another country political system
The core of comparative politics as a scientific study involves the comparison of political phenomena across political systems or units. For the final take-home exam, you will choose two different countries and carefully explore the similarities and differences in some elements of their political systems. This essay will be explicitly comparative. The student should draw from materials and concepts studied in class. The paper will be graded based on demonstrated understanding and application of concepts learned in class, effective citation of sources, and relevant research.
The paper should be 7-10 pages long (double spaced, Font 12, Times New Roman, APA style citation. (See Appendix 2)

Your written assignments for this course will be graded according to the following criteria. The relative weight given to each of these categories will vary depending on the nature of the assignment.

Depth of engagement with and application of course concepts and theories; originality, the seriousness of thought; conceptual complexity
Well-organized structure; an outline, beginning (Introduction), Middle (Evidence), and End (Summary and Conclusion), text “flows” with a coherent and effective transition between and among ideas; appropriate active voice, tone, and style for audience and purpose; accurate word choice.
Sufficiently and consistently cited and documented APA citation style used throughout the paper; (See University of Purdue APA citation website), at least five references and the appropriate type of sources; use quotations and reference marks appropriately and have a reference page.
Correct grammar, syntax, spelling, and punctuation
Add nuance-a good argument is often nuanced, meaning it does not have to be a simple yes and no, agree/disagree statement. The issues we explore in this course are complex and it is perfectly natural to expect your arguments to be complex too. A nuanced argument addresses the limits of the argument and/or any anticipated objections or rebuttals.
Thoroughly proof-read your paper before submission
Make sure you include your name, date, course, and Professor’s name at the top of your cover page and number your pages.
