As a Master's prepared nurse with 10 years of experience, I seek to further my education in family nursing practice to better my family and community. I work predominantly in Nephrology and Endocrinology settings, supporting acute and chronic patient populations. What draws me to Walden University are its Vision, Mission, Goals, and Social Change initiatives, which align closely with my professional and academic objectives. I have been a nurse for 18 years. I have been fortunate enough to climb the ranks of nursing and work in different areas of nursing. I am currently working in Texas and started as an LVN/LPN. I continued my education journey to obtain my Texas nursing license with a BSN and MSN from McNeese State University. I have been in working in the inpatient/acute care setting as a family nurse practitioner for the past 8 years in a rural community hospital. Recently, I graduated with my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from UT Health: Houston, Texas. I am looking forward to beginning this journey of continued education to complete the acute care program here at Walden University.
