INSTRUCTIONS
We are now facing new kinds of communication and, particularly, social media technologies. You have likely already felt the impact of increasing communication technologies in your own life. Please address the questions that follow for your primary post. See stages of perception (see pages 106-118 in textbook).
Only use textbook and personal examples for this assignment.
For this discussion, the “student must post before seeing replies” has been activated, which means that you must contribute your idea before you can see what other have posted.
Make sure to post full entry for first posting to get potentially full credit.
Contribute your initial post to our discussion by Thursday, 11:59 p.m. In your post please include the following:
What are the benefits of these social media tools for creating and maintaining social relationships such as friendship or workplace interactions? What are the drawbacks?
Given that Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram are largely image-driven, how have these platforms changed your perception of how others live their lives? How do we know that our online perceptions of others’ lives are accurate?
By 11:59 p.m. Saturday, please respond to at least two posts in our discussion.

GRADING
Your primary post needs to be 220-250 words and contributes specific ideas to the conversation. The two responses to others need to be 100-130 words each and reflect on comment of that student in a meaningful way by reacting to the questions that were answered by a student.
A discussion rubricLinks to an external site. will be used to grade our discussions. Review the rubrics to see the expectations for your contributions and the corresponding grading.
At the end of the week, you will see a completed rubric alongside your grade. To view the rubric, use the “options” icon in the top right corner of this page to select the rubric. (If viewing the course via the Canvas mobile app, the rubric may not be visible.)
