What do you want to do for a living?
For a living I want to own and do multiple things in the hospitality and tourism industry. I want to own my own restaurant/ bakery inside and outside of the hotel, own my own travel agent. I also want to do more event more so the decoration of the event. My little side hustle that I want to do is be a food critic around the world and getting paid for it.
Which industry within the hospitality (hotel, restaurants, tourism, entertainment , other ) appeals to you the most.
The industry that appeals to me the most is hotel, restaurants, tourism, and entertainment all together. I want to own my own restaurant/ bakery inside and outside of the hotel industry. Open my own travel agent company only because I love to travel everywhere and inside of the entertainment industry, I want to be an event planner/ decoration of the event.
What do you like about it.
What I like about the hotel, restaurant, tourism and entertainment industry is without any of these industry you can’t eat, travel, have a place to stay when you travel or have any entertainment.
What Type of job do you think you would like to do after you graduate.
After I graduate the job, I want to have a hotel and travel agent job. I want to do hospitality part of the hotel.
What kind of company or organization would you like to work for?
I would like to be a part of the Marriott or Hilton family. I only choose these two because they are a big company’s that you can grow with and become something in life when it comes to hotel. When it comes to traveling/ flying it will have to be American airline because they are other big company that you can grow with.
Identify your strengths (at least two) and explain how you will utilize them to reach your goal in your career?
One of strengths is creativity and the other is teamwork. I love creating things from scratch and I also work good with people. So, one of my jobs that I want to do is event planning and decorator and that goes hand and hand with creativity. I use my creativity when it comes to planning someone party or even. My other job is working inside of hotel industry where I work as a team with other people.

My weaknesses are communication. I would learn to talk more to people and stop being shy. Over the years I learned that communication is something that is important in the workforce, without communication you can’t do anything.
Part 4
After college I want to start out in a hotel front desk. You are starting you career as hotel front desk as a clerk at the courtyard. The courtyard by Marriott has the best benefits include hotel, and retail discounts great pay and more. Clerks are responsible for processing guest check-in and check-out, payments, activating room keys, also have great customer service. Pays $20 to 28 per hour based on qualifications. In 5 years or more after college I want to be a travel agent/ Advisor and AAA Club Alliance is great job for that to start out with. You will be selling international and domestic travel packages, cruises, land packages, air travel, cars, and hotel. I would have to prepare and process relevant travel documents and organized invoices. My short-term goals is earning my degree, getting leadership training, and improving my communication skills. My long term goals is to increase my salary, building my professional network, Being able to speak publicly.

Part 2: Company Research. (3-4 pages, double-spaced)
Conduct some company research on three hospitality companies that you know little or nothing about. Name each company, and describe the following for each:
Why you chose the company
Mission statement. This should be in quotes.
What does this company do?
Career and employment information: what are some available jobs at the company? Be specific: find real job postings at real sites. Do not copy the job postings; just list a few of the job titles and their locations.
Brands or types of properties, if it is a chain. If it is a company that is part of a larger company, identify the parent company.
Of the companies you researched, which one would you be more interested in working for and why?

Part 3: Industry Research. (2-3 pages, double-spaced)
Find two trade journal articles related to your chosen job or career segment. Focus and look for articles on Trends. Name the articles and the sources. Then summarize and provide the main points and the articles’ importance to your career. Be sure to choose articles with some depth. Use your own words to summarize the articles.
Describe a professional association and explain how it relates to your career. (A professional association is a group that is established for the purpose of networking and education for industry professionals. It is not a company.)

Part 4: Career Plan. (3-5 pages, double-spaced)
Using JWULink (“Jobs and Internships” tab) or job search web sites, find two job postings in the hospitality industry: one job that you would like to do at the time of graduation, and one that you would like to do five or more years after you graduate. For each posting, identify the company and the job, and summarize the posting with your own words. Explain your reasons for these selections.
Have you changed your mind on your career goals since you started this project, or do you have stronger convictions about your career plan? Explain.
Using all of the information that you have gathered this term, list and explain three short-term goals (1-3 years) and two long-term goals (5-10 years) that you need to achieve to help you reach your dream job. These should be actionable goals, but they can be almost anything you want to achieve, from skills goals (“Improve my public speaking skill”) to career goals (“Become a regional manager for my company”).
