Development of a Research Question is the first step in the research process and imperative to producing a quality Research Paper. By starting the research process with an open ended question and not a statement, you can ensure that your research—and therefore your paper—will have a clear purpose. The goal for your research will ultimately be to answer this question.
This research question assignment must include:
Your Research Question
A brief analysis of your topic and lens, as well as any insight into your own stance on the topic.
Preliminary resources that you used to develop your question and inform yourself on the topic. These can be academic, but do not have to be

Research Proposal on Pyramids
Statement of Purpose:
My research focuses on the construction of pyramids to specifically understand when they were built and who built them. My interest is in finding out the tools and techniques that were applied by ancient civilizations to develop such appealing structures. Further, I will be evaluating the historical and cultural significance of these structures and how they have enhanced the understanding of ancient civilizations. I will conduct this research through extensive historical and archeological lenses.
Explanation of Significance:
Pyramids and their construction have been the most debatable topic among archaeologists. I am confident that carrying out a more intense study would give more insights into them. Despite there being several narratives and theories regarding pyramids, there still doesn’t exist a consensus on how the pyramids were constructed and their specific constructors (Smith, 2018). I hope my research will greatly contribute to the ongoing discussion about pyramids and shed more light on their construction methods. Moreover, studying the cultural and historical significance of pyramids will play a crucial role in disseminating more information and deeper insights regarding the ancient civilizations and their architectural successes.
Research Plan/Methodology:
This research will conduct an extensive literature review of books, articles, and relevant websites regarding the subject of pyramid construction. I will further consult archeological studies and reports discussing the ancient Egyptian civilization (Johnson et al., 2018). I will also apply relevant primary sources, such as artifacts and inscriptions that can be found in and around these structures. These sources will not only be important in giving a deeper understanding regarding the construction techniques but will also enlighten on their historical context.

Project Schedule:
During the first week, I will gather preliminary sources and carry out a literature review.
During the second and third weeks, I will read and analyze sources while taking notes and determining the key findings.
Between the fourth and fifth weeks, I will commence by drafting the research paper and organizing the obtained information into coherent sections.
During the sixth week, I will revise and edit the paper for clarity, accuracy, and coherence.
During the seventh week, I will finalize the research paper and submit it for evaluation.
Following this plan will help me complete the research paper on the construction of pyramids in an effective and timely manner.

Development of a Research Question is the first step in the research process and imperative to producing a quality Research Paper. Your Research Question
A brief analysis of your topic and lens, as well as any insight into your own stance on the topic.
Preliminary resources that you used to develop your question and inform yourself on the topic. These can be academic, but do not have to be.
In order to develop an effective Research Questions, do the following:
Narrow your Topic: You want to make sure that you are thinking in terms of manageability for this—and future—assignments. Consider what would be interesting and specific enough to cover in a 10-page paper. How many different avenues does your question follow? How many “moving pieces” are involved? When you narrow your focus, you ensure that the information you are searching for is much easier to find and manage.
Craft your Question: A strong Research Question creates a strong foundation for your research, and ultimately your paper. Consider our Rhetorical Checklist when creating your topic. Be particularly mindful of genre (report, proposal, argument, analysis) and stance (what is your attitude towards your subject? your biases—why are you interested in it? are you curious? critical? an advocate?) as these will greatly affect your research questions.
Some examples of initial and advanced (though, remember, always “working”) Research Questions can be found below. Your Research Questions do not have to follow any of these specific formats, progressions, or topics. But consider the difference between a first stage question and an advanced one.
Remember: Your research question—as well as all aspects of your research—is subject to revision at your (and my) discretion. As you explore and learn more about your topic, you may want or need to change your focus. This is natural to the research process.
This assignment should be written in Times New Roman, 12-point font and double-spaced. Any citations should follow APA standards. It will be around 300 words. It shall be turned in ON CANVAS the day it is due.
