The objective of this assignment is to:
(a) Present instances of quality improvement initiatives or patient safety concerns within any healthcare delivery setting, with a rationale for selecting the issue.
(b) Examine the contributing factors to the adverse medical outcome.
(c) Apply quality improvement theories and philosophies to a healthcare management project.
(d) Demonstrate proficiency in using quality improvement tools in specific scenarios.
(e) Acknowledge the significance of patient safety issues in medical care.
Course Outcomes:
Through this assignment, students will exhibit their capacity to:
Apply frameworks and theories for enhancing care quality in diverse healthcare systems (CO 1).
Employ critical inquiry to evaluate the design, implementation, and outcomes of quality and safety improvement strategies (CO 3).
Progress in knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for ongoing quality and safety enhancement in healthcare (CO 5).
Due Date: Submissions are due by Sunday at 11:59 p.m. MT at the conclusion of Week 3.
Students have the option to request an extension for assignments in cases of emergency. Supporting documentation should be provided to the assigned faculty. If the request is not approved, the assignment will be graded with a late penalty applied as follows:
Monday = 10% reduction of the total possible points
Tuesday = 20% reduction of the total possible points
Wednesday = 30% reduction of the total possible points
If the request is approved, the student will be informed of the revised due date. Failure to meet the revised due date will result in grading with a late penalty applied as outlined above.

Summarize the content in concluding statements.
The body of the scholarly paper should be 3–5 pages long, excluding title and reference pages.
Ensure that grammar, spelling, punctuation, references, and citations adhere to formal academic writing standards and APA format as per the current edition.
Include a minimum of four references published within the past five years, excluding the textbook. References may encompass scholarly websites of organizations or government agencies and must be cited in APA current edition format for electronic media.
