· Describe two professional roles that you predict will be most comfortable for you in your social work practice. Explain why.
I find myself fitting into roles with children, specifically foster care, foster care is something I’ve personally experienced and I want to be the advocate and help for a child who may not have a voice, or know how to use it. I think I would be good in this role because it’s a passion of mine I hope to change the kids lives, growing up I had a few different people in my life who really helped me be successful, social workers school counselors and CASA workers became my safe space and I want to provide that stability and voice for a child or many children while also helping them to be the most successful versions of themselves.
I also find working in prison reform interesting and a field that would both fit and interest me, often times people transitioning out of prison have a hard time adapting back in society, I think this would be a good role for me because I could help the client from an unbiased point of view I can assess what needs need to be met and todo my best to meet these needs.

I think working with elderly people or In a hospital setting would be uncomfortable for me, I haven’t experienced much death in my life and I think advocating for someone at the end stages would be difficult and challenging. I would have a hard time keeping my emotions out of the situation. Also working in a hospital situation I would find challenging because a lot of issues would center around money and finances.

· Describe two professional roles you predict will be most comfortable for your social work practice. Explain why.
The two professional roles most comfortable for me in social work are the counselor and the mediator.
1) The role of the counselor is “one who provides guidance to clients and assists them in a planned change or problem-solving process” (Kirst-Ashman et al., 2018, p.10). This is the most comfortable role because it comes naturally to me. As a problem-solver, I investigate ways to help and create plans with others to create the best path for them to take. For example, I am helping a teen mom who came out to her parents and now faces homelessness. I could listen to her concerns about food and shelter for herself and the soon-to-be baby. Be able to help her get to an emergency shelter. Action plans to connect her with services such as contacting EBT or food stamps and looking into the local food shelves, affordable housing, and prenatal classes at places such as Plan Parenthood.
2) The role of the mediator is “One who resolves arguments or disagreements among individuals, families, groups, organizations, or communities in conflict” (Kirst-Ashman et al., 2018, p.10). This role is comfortable, mainly because I have a history of doing this. Working in the role of direct care mediation is common when working with individuals who are developmentally disabled. A crucial part of why I feel comfortable in this role is because I have had to learn to slow things down and process the information, and a key component is working with people to achieve their goals. For example, in highly heated conflicts or disagreements, I am more likely to ask specific questions to gauge the subject’s sensitivity, such as What are the goals you want to achieve out of this? Do you want to stay connected to the people after the discussion, even if you don’t like the answers? And a few more, I have learned that taking the time as the mediator to gather as much information as possible beforehand can help get to a solution.
· Describe one role you predict will be uncomfortable in your social work practice. Explain why.
The one role that I predict will be uncomfortable working in social work practice is the Mobilizer, which is the “one who identifies and convenes community people and resources to identify ‘unmet community needs’ and ‘effect changes for the better in their community'” (Halley, Kopp, & Austin, 1998, as cited in Kirst-Ashman et al., 2018). The reason behind this being uncomfortable for me is the public speaking that is known to come with this, and my nerves would not mix well, and I would probably faint or vomit. I would do better as the person gathering the resources, with someone else being the spire head of the public speaking position.
