You should have a good understanding of your own personality and communication style, but how well do you understand the styles of other people?

The purpose of this discussion is:

1.to practice framing your messages in ways that are appealing to people who are different from you, and

2.to understand how “flexing” your communication style can help you become more influential.

For your first post, start by listing your MBTI (Myers Briggs) personality type, Big 5 personality, 16 Personality Types, and emotional intelligence. Share insights into your personality. Describe how you like to communicate, using your personality type as well as any other individual preferences you may have.

Respond to at least 3 people whose personality is different from yours, addressing the following situation. Use at least one relevant source in initial posting as citation and reference.

For the sake of this discussion, pretend that you all work for the same organization, Z Corp. Convince a peer to join your committee that’s in favor of promoting a 4-day work week (10-hour days). The boss needs to be convinced by the committee.

Frame your message using what you’ve learned about your peer’s communication preferences. Use textbook, at minimum, as citation and reference. Original posted needs to be about 175 words; peer replies need to be about 75 words.

Each invitation should be different and based on what the person shared about their preferred learning/work style. You are not sharing thoughts on their personality styles. One response can be to instructor comments of personality styles, but at least 2 peer replies need to be invitation to meeting based on styles with different messages.

Responses are not just about person’s style.
